63 Amp DC Circuit Breaker - A Reliable and Versatile Solar Protection SolutionThe YQBYJING 63 Amp DC Circuit Breaker is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker (MCB) designed for a wide range of solar power applications, offering reliable protection for both DC and AC circuits. With a focus on safety, performance, and ease of use, this breaker appears to be a solid choice for solar PV systems, battery setups, and even general AC applications.Key Strengths:* Excellent Performance and Protection: The standout feature is its versatile voltage rating (DC 12-500V and AC 90-500V) and impressive 6kA short-circuit protection capacity. This provides robust protection against overcurrents and short circuits, crucial for safeguarding sensitive solar equipment and preventing potential hazards. The fact that it protects both + and - poles for DC circuits, as well as L and N poles for AC circuits, adds to its versatility.* High-Quality Construction: The use of flame-retardant materials (V1 rating), silver contacts, and pure copper coils indicates a commitment to quality and longevity. These materials ensure reliable performance and contribute to the breaker's overall safety. The color indicators for status monitoring are a simple but valuable addition, making it easy to quickly assess the breaker's condition.* Precise and Reliable Tripping: Designed for accurate tripping based on current, even in extreme temperatures (-40ºC to 85ºC), the YQBYJING breaker ensures consistent performance without the need for de-rating. This is particularly important for outdoor solar installations where temperature fluctuations are common.* Wide Range of Applications: The breaker's versatility makes it suitable for various applications, including solar panel arrays, charge controllers, batteries, power inverters, household lighting, small motor control, RVs, and more. This broad compatibility makes it a practical choice for both residential and mobile/off-grid solar setups.* Easy to Use: The DIN rail mounting and straightforward design contribute to easy installation and integration into existing electrical systems.Potential Considerations:* Brand Recognition: YQBYJING might not be as well-known as some established circuit breaker brands. While the specifications and features appear promising, some users might prefer to stick with brands they are more familiar with.* Long-Term Reliability: While the materials and design suggest good durability, only long-term use will truly demonstrate the breaker's reliability over time. The YQBYJING 63 Amp DC Circuit Breaker appears to be a well-designed and capable product for solar power and general DC/AC circuit protection. Its high short-circuit capacity, wide voltage range, quality materials, and ease of use make it a compelling option for those seeking a reliable and versatile circuit breaker for their solar or electrical systems.Notes: The Breaker looks like a sure thing despite a growing chorus of negative reviews over not only this brand but other brands too. This is worrisome as I just installed this Breaker on my new Solar Panel System on my Toy Hauler. Are these breakers as reliable as the conventional AC breakers found in home versions? That is a lot of trust placed on on product to prevent possible fire. And please insert a DIN Rail with your advertised product. These breakers require a rail.

With plans to electrify a shed that presently has no power, I’m thinking solar. So far I’ve acquired a charge controller, a 200 watt, 30-volt solar panel, connectors, wiring, and a 12-volt LiFePO4 battery. I plan to add more panels which means I really need to provide a safe means to cut off the array and protect it from over-current. This offering from YQBYJING seems a possible option. This is a plastic two-pole breaker, rated to 40 amps at up to 500 V DC. The kit comes with several additional features and accessories. The breaker is already fitted with pigtails at both ends, terminated with standard solar panel-type connectors. The kit includes two additional pairs of connectors (to couple this assembly to your system), a connector wrench, electrical tape, and even screw anchors to help secure the breaker to a surface.Note: This is a surface-mount breaker. If you need something that will sit on a DIN rail, you might look elsewhere. The product does show markings consistent with conformance to 3rd-party standards (CE and UK CA).Two minor points of criticism: The web ad copy claims the breaker housing is IP65-rated “waterproof.” They promote this with a suggestive image of a box, half-submerged in water. The IP65 standard describes a box that is sealed that will tolerate water jets, spraying at it from any direction, without leaking. It does NOT mean the box is waterproof or suitable for use in circumstances where it might become submerged. The second thing...a nitpick. As I indicated, the kit includes a roll of electrical tape. The spool included in the kit is significantly smaller than the roll pictured in the web photo of “what you get.” I don’t expect a breaker to include electrical tape. But if you promise it, the item in the box should match what you promised, shouldn’t it?Neither of these issues are show-stoppers (the product itself seems sound), but sellers should respect that people are making purchase decisions based on the information they provide—photos, specifications, and ad copy. There is no room here to be theatrical or careless.
