I had purchased one of these Sperry CS61200 packages in 2020, and really liked the tool. I often must trace electrical circuits for my work and this device works well for that. Now in 2024 my sending unit stopping working, so I contacted customer support in Wisconsin. Not only did a receive a telephone call back from them, but a few days after I spoke with them, they sent a brand new unit via UPS. They really do stand behind this unit, and if you are undecided whether to buy one. just do it. Love my Sperry 61200. Its priced fairly and you won't regret it.

Power button turns on by itself while in tool bag, draining battery making it unusable when needed.Receiver sensitivity is NOT tunable. With noise on the circuit, unable to reliably identify which breaker is correct.Chirping sound is very soft and inaudible when there is any slight high freq noise on the lines.ExTech tester has a loud beep, adjustable sensitivity, good on/off switch and gave accurate results.

As always amazon prime delivery exceeds my expectations with ahead of time of the estimate delivery time and picture of the product delivered to your front door and alexa notifications of delivered products is so seamlessly.Products works great, looks very durable and heavy duty. I have tried all the accessories except the alligator extension attachment.Pros:Very durable, heavy duty, easy to use.Cons:3 prongs plugs is a bit thicker compare to my Klein GFCI outlet tester as seen on the picture and it makes hard to plug in to your receptacles and hard to remove it.When you plug in the GFCI tester the results information charts is at the bottom thus makes you have to either take pictures first to be able to read it or take the picture of the information chart on your phone then use it to see the results compare to my Klein GFCI outlet tester as seen the picture. The cons makes me reduce the rating to 4 stars instead of 5 stars.Overall is a great products and worth the money that you spend.

The first time I tried this product, I tried it at home and didn’t work good at all. Then I tired it at a more commercial environment where everything is run in BX or armoured cable and it worked amazing. I think having the metal sheath around the cable would reduce false readings but I haven’t used it enough to confirm that. I’ll definitely update my review I find any more little things that thisAt the end of the day, this tool would be a lot better in a commercial or industrial environment anyways because there would be a lot more crucial equipment that can’t be turned off unlike a residential environment. Which works out good for me but that’s not for everyone

Tool built quality, accessory and price are all great but like anything that is too good to be true, this applies here as well. I used a light bulb adaptor, went to my control panel to find the correct circuit breaker, about 8 circuit breakers gave a max reading and 7 of them were wrong. This is ridicules, what is the point of this device if it gives so many false readings? Complete waste of money.

I followed the directions and this worked exactly as expected. You do get the tone on multiple adjacent breakers but there is a distinct difference in the volume when you hit the breaker you are looking for.I Especially like that this came with the accessories as I needed the alligator clips to trace the breaker my household smoke detectors were attached to. I have now used this on 3 occasions. two outlets and the smoke detectors mentioned before. All 3 times it was quick and easy to walk up to the breaker Box, locate the breaker, and turn it off to verify. In the past there was a lot of running back-and-forth turning off breakers and disrupting the household in order to find the right one.Of course I then update the labeling in the Box so that I don't even have to use the tool again the next time. As always when working with electricity be careful, especially when using the alligator clips as you have to expose live wires. If you are unsure of what you are doing get professional help.

I mean... it works, but it's not easy to use. The detector is either too sensitive, or not sensitive enough, because it false alerts on wrong breakers easily. The difference between the right and wrong breaker is sometimes so thin, it's hard to tell. With practice, you get the hang of it. There are YouTube videos that help explain. The GFCI tester would be much easier to use if the code chart was on the top, and the button was on the bottom. Most outlets outside of a hospital are installed with the ground plug facing down. This means if the outlet is not wired correctly, you have to remember which lights were lit, unplug the device, and turn it over to read the codes. Just extra steps that are frustrating.

I used this the other day. We were adding some canned lights to the living area. I got tired of yelling up and down the stairs whether or not I turned the right breaker off. For a homeowner this works splendidly. I don’t know how a licensed electrician would review this thing but the Sperry device was great for our situation.I watched a YouTube tutorial on how to interpret the reading and it was invaluable because this thing has a range of lights and noises. After plugging it into the circuit I wanted to work on I placed the receiving end on the panel and ‘sniffed’ out two breakers it could be and wouldn’t you know?! It was right!!! I only had to try two breakers and found the right one! VOILA! In business and back to work!Real time & aggravation saver.

I really like that this product will work in an electrical socket, with bare wires, or even in a typical screw-in bulb socket. It was easy to use after watching a few videos online. The "antennae" feature was interesting and I'm not sure whether it gets a plus or a minus in the "I like it" box. But, it works, is sturdy, and saves a lot of time hunting for circuit breakers. TIP: if you don't hear the buzzer stop after flipping a circuit breaker off-you flipped the wrong one. Try one next to the one you flipped first.

This tool does work. At first I had the same issue as many other reviewers where all the breakers in my box seemed to have a signal and I could not find the correct breaker. I was ready to box the unit up and send it back but decided to look closer and follow the instructions more precisely. Instructions do not come inside the box and must be downloaded from Sperry's website (A quick google search with the model number brought the instructions up right away). A few points to get the tool to work.1. Ignore the 60hz buzzing/whining type sound the receiver picks up any time it gets close to the breaker box. Eventually I concluded this sound is noise from the AC lines inside the breaker box and in my case all the breakers in the box emit this noise a different levels. I was confusing this sound as the signal coming from the transmitter initially because the level is different for each breaker which made it seem like a signal from transmitter to me. It would have been easy to filter this noise out with a few more components inside the tool, but this would probably have added a little cost and clearly the main goal of this tool is low cost.2. The LED level indicator is useless as the 60hz noise referenced above triggers this indicator and on most of the breakers max this indicator out.3. It's very important to orient the wand attached to the receiver correctly. It must be held vertically against the face of the breaker.4. Listen for the distinct beep - beep - beep sound mixed in with the 60hz noise. When you put the wand on the correct breaker this beep will be loudest. In my case, you could hear the beep on 1-2 adjacent breakers, but not nearly as loud as the correct breaker.Giving this tool a 4 star rating is probably very generous, but it does work and the price is very good. I would imagine the more expensive tools have the appropriate filter to get rid of the 60hz noise. As an occasional user of this tool, I would rather save a few $$, but if you are a frequent user or a professional electrician this tool may not be for you.
