We’ve used this product for the past year and really liked it until it made our dogs very sick. Vomiting and explosive, watery diarrhea from two bags with poultry ingredients. We informed the company after the first bag and got no reply back whatsoever; switched to beef which the dog didn’t like. Tried a bag of turkey which again caused the same symptoms. Not bothering with this second bag. Going back to making our own food.

UPDATE 5/15/24: another bag shipped three months past it's "best by" date.My dog loves this food. It’s high quality and easy to prep. My only complaint is they recently have been sending bags which are already past their “best by” date. At this price that’s unacceptable.

I’ve had my three pups on it since they were born. I just took my Boston Terrier and French Bulldog into the vet for their annual visit. They have just turned four and my vet was so impressed with their health and their coat. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with the food but I was expecting to have to setup a cleaning for their teeth and the vet told me there was no reason too. He said their teeth are in excellent condition not even a speck of plaque. I highly recommend this food.

Transitioning my dog over to raw so using this food to ease into it. So far she loves it and is a picky eater. Definitely have to shake the bag to redistribute all the contents but that’s not a big deal. Expensive but worth it for us. UPDATE: First few days were good but then caused multiple loose BM daily. Had to stop feeding dog this food and she finally returned to normal.

I started feeding my old girl Stella (Olde Bulldogge) Sojo's when she was diagnosed with mast cell cancer. Not wanting to do too much invasive surgery, she was 12 yrs old at diagnosis, I read several recommendations for Sojos on websites like the RescueMe dog sanctuary website. I do believe incorporating Sojos into Stella's diet extended the length and quality of her life and helped her enjoy her final sunsets. Living in Minneapolis I couldn't believe I hadn't heard of Sojos as its only made 10 miles down river in St Paul. They are set up right next to the stock yards along the Mississippi River in S. St Paul so they get fresh meat quickly and are able to freeze dry it for a perfect dog food: it's like thanksgiving dinner in a mix. Now 3 yrs later, my older (13 yrs) Pug eats mostly Sojos with a lil kibble for extra crunch and Stella's protege, Elsie, gets a scoop in her kibble. They love it. They let me know about an hour before its time for breakfast and dinner, which can be a lil much. Sure its expensive, but having been fortunate to have pugs and bulldogges --breeds not exactly well known for their great health-- over the last 20+ yrs, I believe Sojo's is prolly the healthiest dog food you can buy short of blending up a thanksgiving spread for them everyday.

I love feeding Sojos dog food to my best buddy. As far as I know, I do not think they have had any recalls -( I use a site called dog food advisor to make sure nothing I feed her is recalled) It is reconstituted with water and is easy to make - Saves on space as it is freeze dried and the bottom line is, it is a really healthy food for my dog. I do wish it weren't so darn expensive but, in the long run, the old saying "you are what you eat" goes for your fur friends too. I make very few trips to the vet. So far only check ups and teeth cleaning. This is amazing considering my best friend is a retired greyhound and did not get the best start in life. I adopted her when she was 2 years old and she is now 6 years old. (Knock on wood) she has been extremely healthy) I spend more money on her food than mine and I wish there were coupons or some kind of program where after buying a certain number of bags you get one free. Anything that would help those of us who want to do what is right for our pets but are not wealthy. It is getting to a point where only those with big bucks can afford a pet. I believe if you are going to take on the responsibility of taking care of a living creature, you should do it right or not do it at all. Far too many people think giving their dogs any old junk kibble or canned food is acceptable. In my opinion it is not. Taking care of an animal of any kind takes a lot of work, time, patience and love, along with money. Flea control, rabies shots, teeth cleaning are all very important and since your dog can not speak you have to educate yourself in order to know if and when your dog is in pain. Their teeth are a big deal and can cause tremendous pain (no different than when we have tooth pain) but, they cannot tell us. What your dog eats affects how often they will need to have their teeth cleaned. I highly recommend Sojos dog food and along with a topper that is high in protein. So many people tell me, " It is so good you "saved" her" and I always reply, honestly it was the other way around. She is my best friend and I feel spending the money for a quality dog food is one way to show her I love her. Having extremely rare vet bills is a plus. My gal, like all dogs and pets, deserve food that is healthy for them. I also have the peace of mind that Sojos is (so far) a safe dog food without any recalls. That in and of itself, is worth the money I spend for 2 bags every 6 weeks. I am disabled and live far below the poverty line but, she is my priority. I waited six years before I knew I would be able to afford all that comes with the responsibility of having a pet. It took a lot of research to find a dog food I could trust that would pass my tests and Sojos is it! Now if they could only lower the price a bit... Ha ha ha!
