Kindly NOTE:
1. The pH function of this soil tester can not be applied to test pH value of any liquid.
2. Since soil most often is in/close to neutral state (with pH value of 7), it is highly likely that you find the needle in display window stay still (because the default pH value is set at somewhere between 7 and 8) when you use it to test the pH value of soil. Customers sometimes are misled by this appearance and hence regard the tester as a defective unit by mistake.

How to Use:
Step 1: Switch to moisture/pH/light position according to demand.
Step 2: Insert the probe into soil.
Step 3: Check moisture/pH/light level in the dial after 10 minutes.
Step 4: Remove probe from soil and wipe clean after each use.
1. Do not force it into very hard soil or touch hard objects since it will be easy to damage the probe.
2. Do not use it to test pure water or other liquids. It can only be used to measure soil.
3. Do not leave the meter in the soil for a long time.
4. Please wipe and clean the probe after each use.
5. If the soil is too dry the indicator will not move, and water it before testing.

Save your money the little tools they give you or junk and sews the meters. The meters are about as accurate as a hand grenade.

At first I didn't think it was working but then I realized it doesn't work in liquid, only soil. I found out my soil was too alkaline and I worked some vinegar into the garden and the plants perked up.

As stated in the headline, rub the probe with sandpaper if it's not sensing things accurately. I tested this by just placing the probe in a glass of water. When it gave me a reading of about 60% moisture, I dried it off, quick rub with some sandpaper, and put it back in. Straight to 100%. This technique is mentioned in the manual, but we all know you're not going to read that.The UV sensor seems to work. Held it under UV lights, it senses it. Pull further away from the lights, the strength drops.I don't have any other pH testing kit, so I have no comparison, but it doesn't seem incorrect from what I'd expect.

I ordered 3 of these meters in hopes of just being able to leave one in each pot but turns out not a.food idea due to corrosion on the metal legs...outside of that it works very well and the little hand tools are actually quite helpful... The light meter seems to be more.acxurate then say the photone app on the phone so that's a plus.... And the moisture meter helps greatly to prevent over watering... All in all a good product IMO

I bought this product at the beginning of January and have been using it faithfully since. According to the meter, the PH is on point and moisture is ALWAYS wet (even if the soil is dry as a bone to touch) the meter reads wet and arrow darts to the far right. So, I started to believe I was drowning my plants and although the top of the soil was dry, the bottom of the soil must be wet. After approximately 3 weeks, I decided to change all my planters with bigger planters, to give the roots more space to spread and grow. Loosened the roots and soil into the new planters and found that the soil was not as wet as te meter was reading but slightly damp. When I was done, I added very little water and left in sun for a few days without watering. I then checked the soil with the meter again, it read wet as the arrow darted to the extreme right. I allowed two more days without watering and noticed the leaves beginning to change. Some of the plant leaves were changing to a yellow color, then brown and crisp and some just withered away and fell to the floor. I then had a family member over who noticed my meter next to my plant and remarked, "I bought the same one on Amazon...that doesn't work". So, I started to water my plants with very little water every other day, sometimes every two days and noticed my plants were starting to look healthy again. I thought about returning the meters for a refund but it was beyond the return eligibilty date. So I thought I would write a review so you don't make the same mistake I did by purchasing this item. My point....DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE IT DOES NOT WORK!!!!!

I bought similar product before and all stopped working after a while. Turned out it failed because I left it in the soil. This sensor functions like a battery, so metal on each pole and the moisture in soil creates a circuit to drive the meter. When left in the soil, it eventually died like a battery.

Save your money and your sanity - these moisture meters are an absolute joke. I purchased the 2-pack, hoping for a reliable way to monitor soil moisture in my plants. What a disappointment! Not only are they inconsistent, but they're also downright deceptive. When I use both meters side by side in the same plant pot, they give me wildly different readings, completely contradicting each other. How can I trust these devices when they can't even agree on the moisture level in the same soil? It's clear that they're both defective junk.To make matters worse, the seller's customer service, Sonkir CA, is as non-existent as their product's accuracy. I reached out to them twice, detailing my concerns and requesting assistance, but they couldn't be bothered to respond to either of my attempts. It's apparent that they have no interest in resolving customer issues or standing behind their product.Don't be fooled by the cheap price tag; you'll end up wasting more money replacing them with something that actually works. I've attached a photo as proof. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere for a reliable moisture meter

I just love this tool!I am prone to over-watering, and I'm really making an effort this year to give fewer but deeper waterings. I've tried in the past, but I've always wavered, thinking the soil was probably drier than it was. This helps me stop doubting myself, and I've become much more efficient and effective at watering.And I don't need another tool to measure my soil pH. I grow a lot of acid-loving plants, so working to lower the pH level is a big task.I haven't had need to use the sun-light level feature much, but it's nice to have.It's a light-weight, slim tool that fits so easily in my garden bucket. And with a simple flip of a switch it can measure three different variables. And no batteries or plug-ins are needed!
