Bought this as I needed some pet safe ice melt, and I didnt see any at the store I was in. I wasnt about to go to various stores, so I opted to come home and see what I could find online, and which brand has a delivery date of a day or two away. Snow Joe was it.Compared to the last pet safe/safer product I used, this is by far significantly better. Way better performance and works quickly. There is not much area I need to use this on that my dogs will have access to, but I prefer something that is safe, er, safer? And in the one spot my dogs to have access to, once the ice is melted down, I just sweep or shovel that area.We had had a bit of snow, rain, ice, more snow, some rain, and ice, and more snow. Had a sheet of ice to work through and I wanted to clear out what I could. I just used this this morning, and I could hear the ice popping and melting after application. By the time I was finished salting, the area I initially tossed some down was already clear. Temps were mid 20s.Green colored material, moist. Easy open bag. Though after that, nothing to speak of. I transferred this into the tub that the stuff I didnt like was in. Color makes it easy to see where I put it, and where i missed.We don't get much ice, but when it does happen, it makes all the difference to have something that can knock it down. I'm pleased with this.I will update if I notice it bothers my dogs. So far, they havent really had to walk through it. I take care to keep any of this sort of stuff to a minimum around them.

This product may be safe for Pets or animals but otherwise it is sub par. The salt is crystallized rocks not pellets. Whatever does not dissolve in snow stays in crystallized rock form. There is a white residue on.my steps from this salt. I have to sweep away the undisclosed rocks and wash down my front steps with a hose, in February.

It’s been such a snowy wet winter in NYC this year! This has been my favorite brand so far. It’s my second or third time buying it and it works so quickly to melt snow and ice

This is my preferred ice melt use to here in the northeast. Its pets safe for all the dogs and cats i have in the neighborhood. It works on ice really well and keeps its unfrozrn in high temperature. Works fast and hasn't damaged my driveway.

It was OK, it didn't melt completely leaving big pieces of salt. I had to sweep it around to get is to melt all the ice and I have dog that I worry about getting the pieces of ice in his paws.

This bag is a good size for what I paid AND works great! The only problem is the WILDLY uneven size of the salt; there are clumps the size of quarters AND plenty of dust. My three year old puppy, Brandy, has some stuck in her fluffy pads. (We just rescued her from three years of pumping out adorable mini golden doodle puppies. Now SHE gets to be the INSANE LUNATIC!)
