This works excellent with my logging winch on my tractor. This was a great purchase. All I had to do was buy a tree hugger strap at Princess Auto to complete it.

Just a head's up, this snatch block isn't rated in the same way that most load-carrying gear is rated. This block lists itself as a 6ton snatch block which would normally mean that it has a safe working load of 6tons and a breaking strength of 2-3x that value. However, this block doesn't actually list a working load and only lists the breaking strength. So i'd only recommend using this for 2-4ton max (which is really easy to hit when you're talking about a force multiplier like a snatch block). So while I picked up 2 of these, I'd really only use them for recovering ATV's and really small vehicles. The materials do feel pretty good, but all that really matters is what it can hold safely.

This is a very heavy duty snatch block that I usually keep in my Jeep for unexpected winching situations I may find myself in. But I also occasionally need it for redirecting the fall of a tree I'm cutting down and need to make sure it doesn't fall across a fence, or gate, or even a building. It has worked flawlessly and I'm very pleased with it.

I have 7 ash trees that have to come down. All are located along our property border that has an 8-foot high wooden fence. And the dead trees—each being 8-10 inches in diameter and 45-50 feet high—are within a couple of feet of this fence. Luckily, they all stand pretty straight, no dangerous leaners. Still, I want to make sure when I cut and fell them, they topple into my yard rather than smashing a section of the fence! Pulling them my way under pressure will assure this, but I can't get my SUV into the position I need to pull in the right direction. This little snatch block, a rope, and a couple of towing straps allow me to change angles. I will be able to set up and put pressure on from the right direction, but make a right-angle turn to the SUV and do the actual pulling from a different direction. In effect, running my pulling rope around a corner! This snatch block is the simple key to such situations, providing a successful workaround. A snatch block is a simple piece of equipment. I've used one often enough in the past to know what to look for. I can tell you this snatch block is well-made and plenty heavy-duty. No matter if you're using it manually, as I will be, or in conjunction with a winch on a 4X4, pickup, or ATV. Its 13,000 pounds capacity break strength is more than adequate for most jobs. You can use either a rope or steel cable. An excellent piece of truly useful gear!

I use these for skidding firewood logs out of the woods with my truck. I’ve had logs hang up bad and stop my truck jerking me to a stop. The pulley was the lowest rated piece of gear in the system and didn’t fail. I’d trust these snatch blocks for several applications based on that.

I used this product for a elk/deer hanging set up I built to make things easier to hoist. Works perfectly
