This tool works really well. I purchased Dritz plastic snaps at a local store because there were more of a matte finish, whereas most of the ones I've seen on this site are shiny. I was pretty impressed with how well this tool and plastic snaps work. The point of the snap is completely squashed (as it should be) as long as you apply enough pressure. The snaps hold firmly both in the fabric and to each other. Make sure everything is properly aligned and you are using the right die for your snap size. Instructions are pretty minimal, but check out some videos before you use it on your project. Some snap tools look more like a pliers. I think they would require more strength to get a good result. This tool gives you a good amount of leverage.One slight negative is the awl. Mine had a tiny "burr" on the tip that would catch the fabric. It was easily sanded off to make the point smooth.I have a heavy duty snap tool for metal snaps as well that I have used for many years. This is my first experience with plastic snaps. I'm impressed. Sometimes you want a more subtle plastic snap. This tool is a good way to go. I used Dritz size 20 snaps which is apparently the same as "T5". (Not sure why we have 2 different snap size naming standards.)

I got this because it's the same one my sister has and it is so easy to use. Now, I'm trying to find things in my apartment to add snaps to. I might have to start more sewing projects.

These pieces go thru the fabric nicely. However I have to use nail clippers to snip off the point as the pliers provided can't tighten it adequately otherwise.

This product works as it should, the snaps do spin around on fabric and make it difficult to pull apart. It’s as if they don’t close and seal all the way. But the pliers work well as they should!

So far so good. I had to order a new one, my other one lost a piece so would not snap. Much used so screw was lost somehow.
