I haven't used these for climbing but for making tethers to attach to the jack lines of a yacht. (Jack lines are used to prevent man-overboard incidents.) They attach so quickly and easily, that you can depend on them when the weather is rough and/or the boat is heeling. They are somewhat heavy, but they're never going to let you down.

So the claims of other reviews is correct. This product isn't as fully advertised, it has a flat eyelet appose to a round one. For my intended use thee won't be much strain on the fall arrest or rope system if it were to occur. Please don't take my use and words as lab results for your own use, I just have faith and experience to form a self inspection and judgment, with that said any and all liability is between you and the seller or just yourself for proper or improper use.

Super easy to open. Wide gate makes clipping to line or D rings very easy. A little more $$ than I would like - more less expensive than other biners of the same design. Just buy it!!!

I bought these because they will suit several needs with my hobbies and vehicle. I fully intend on trying them out on my next outdoors trip, but for now they are excellent for securing loads in the bed of my truck. between these and some good rope I've secured everything from entire living room sets to a pallet of block.
