I bought this for my grandson's birthday and he really enjoys it. It is a great gift for a child that likes to learn and is curious about everything. It's easy to use and not too big and bulky. He absolutely loves it

First one I've ever purchased I didn't like it it zooms in so close you spend 10 minutes to find a DOT then it's too close to even see. That could be my bad. So I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt and say four stars

I ordered 2. One was new and not open but still cheap junk. The other was delivered in the original box in a plastic bag and no onside packing. Everything just bouncing around in the bottom of the box, scratched, dinged, parts missing and microscope broken. Junk, junk, junk!!!

This is a toy and not functional. Also very low quality made without any Quality Control. The light does not turn on consistently since the electrical is loose. Also the tool and toys and made of plastics. I guess the designers wanted kids to "make believe play" instead of really use it as a functioning microscope. Sad and not worth the purchase and time wasted to return it...Errrrr....With the Smithsonian name you would think it would be good item but that is far from the fact!

My grandson really loved it. It seemed to me like a really good first microscope & was a good price. It did seem to me that it may not last long but I don't know, maybe I'm wrong about that.
