The pad worked as advertised. It was overkill for our situation. It is highly sensitive to movement. Every time my mother readjusted in her chair, it beeped. Every time she got up, it alarmed. And it really startled her. It would have been fine if the alarm went off only when she got up. Was not useful for us.

This product has one downfall - the company advises that the batteries are estimated to last a year but fail to let you know that they are not replaceable. Once the battery is gone - you will have to replace the whole unit. I think that’s a little sneaky.

Connection between alarm and mat does not stay together. Alarm goes off 5-10 seconds after client stands. This is not a good device to prevent falls.

Need an alarm for the chair a family sits in to prevent getting up without my knowledge and falling. It's not expensive and it works.

This monitor is a wonderful product to have to insure the safety of my dad who has a tendency to get up out of his chair and walk quietly off into another room and risk falling. I wish we had known about a product so helpful as this months ago. The only problem I had with it, and it is not a big problem, was getting into the inside to insert the battery. The screw to the back is so small and the volume control is inside there, too. If I had the right size Phillips screw driver to begin with, it probably would have been easier.

This is a huge lifesaver for us. My mother has cognitive issues and is a significant fall risk. She often forgets that she is not supposed to get out of a chair without the aide and the chair alarm alerts us prior to any disasters. We have one of these on each of the chairs she normally sits in - they work very well. The alarm is loud enough to be heard in adjacent rooms.
