I use this to help me know when my wife is getting out of bed so that I can help prevent a potential fall.I set the sensor horizontal on a highboy dresser and either keep the receiver on my side of the bed or attached to my belt. Works like a charm.

Great device works great. You can have an alarm with a sound or just flashing light or both love the feature of the keychain that automatically turn it off or on.

Watching a loved one decent into dementia is heartbreaking enough, without compounding that angst with concerns of dangerous falls that result from middle of the night trips to the bathroom.Walkers, pagers, cow bells, phones, sleeping in the same room, etc. - NONE worked as this parent couldn't remember to utilize any of them and even with 24/7 around the clock attendants, the parent/patient had an uncanny ability to get out of bed - and fall - when I or the the aide grabbed a bite, visited the loo or simply nodded off in the middle of the night.We placed the motion sensor on the ground under the bed and the battery powered receiver instantly alerts whenever the battery powered motion sensor detects movement. As a result, I or an aide can and assist before what would have been a fall. Truly a GAME CHANGER for us.We've read the reviews on this product and noted some failures after the 30 day return period. So far so good and in candor, as inexpensive as this device is, even if it failed in a few months, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another.
