Strong and comfortable cage. Adds protection and better handling to the smallish Canon R7 especially if you have large hands. A cold shoe allows the addition of a microphone or small constant light if a top handle is added to the hot shoe. Plenty of 4/20 contact points. The flat base is an Arca Swiss compatible base plate.

Great quality and perfect fit. One problem is that it's difficult to get to the lens changing button with any lens but very difficult with a long lens.

Très bonne cage permettant de construire un camera rig avec accessoires si voulu ex : ajouter un moniteur , poignée , micro et plusProtège les côtes du camera , et permet aussi d’attacher la sangle à différentes endroits pour positionner le caméra.Je suis très satisfait de l’achat !

This is the second camera I have bought a Smallrig cage for. There have been a lot of improvements in this time. The latest cage has cutouts for the remote control which the previous one lacked and the extra securing clips gives more confidence in the security of the camera

Das Cage ist sehr passgenau und alle Öffnungen (Batteriefach, Speicherkartenfach, Mikro usw) lassen sich problemlos öffnen. Ebenfalls kommt man bei dieser neuen Version gut an den Knopf um das Objektiv zu wechseln.Ein tolles Teil mit klarer Kaufempfehlung

Well thought through design, well made, fits perfectly ... compliments use without compromising functions!For years I've tried cages - even bought a couple over the years - they were a nice idea but nothing more.SmallRig is a game changer - esp with the smaller cameras - also does wonders with the Sony RX100 seriesPS For EF shooters - there is a lot of nonsense about access with larger EF lenses - they say it's tough to reach trhe rease button on the controller. True BUT it's a non-issue:Just press the lens release on the body!

What an amazing cage, everything is so well thought out.I see a lot of people complaining about the lens eject button being hard to get too. I just grabbed a popsicle stick and wrapped it in nice tape. That will be my tool to get in between the cage and lens. Not a issue at all.

So this cage just lives on my R7 all the time now. the only time it comes off is when I need to use my Gimbal. The cage isn't needed and adds a bit too much weight for the gimbal. Otherwise I just keep it on my R7. It protects the body and it adds a bit of "girth" to the camera when using the camera for still images. I have larger hands and the R7 is smaller then my last Canon body. With the cage on the body I don't have any issues grabbing the battery grip area and now my pinky finger has a place to land.When I need to shoot video, the cage allows me to mount all the things needed to turn the R7 into a video shooting tool. I can add a top handle, mount a monitor, add a side grip, mount an external shotgun mic and hang the wireless receiver on the cage. Its a very, useful and needed part for video production when using these smaller camera bodies. Otherwise, there would be no way to add all the parts you need.The cage itself is very light and doesn't add that much more weight to the body, but it does add a lot of usability and protection.And the added features that SmallRig has added in are just really very well thought out and executed. Having small magnets built into the cage to hold a small tool that you need to put the cage on and off is simply genius! The tool with an allen head driver and a flat blade driver are all you need to mount the cage. Its always with the cage. So smart.I have several other SmallRig parts that go with the camera to complete my rig and they all work so well with this cage.I really like this cage!
