I have previously used the plastic suction cups that supposedly stick to glass - they never stay in place. This works perfectly! I have a metal part on my dash and this stays solidly in place. Once you place it over metal and then clamp it down, the camera doesn't move. I have also used it on the roof of my car to catch some road trip footage ... with a cable attached to the camera through the sun roof just in case. I needn't have worried - even at high speeds it didn't budge. You do need to have a metal area to attach this to - it won't work on plastic dash moulding.

I purchased this to mount a z-axis arm for my DJI Osmo Pocket 3. I liked that it was magnetic and suction in a single mount with 3 cups. The ball head is small but sturdy enough for the weight of my pocket 3 + heavy case and the arm. I like that the 1/4-20 mount end has the thumb wheel with holes for inserting an Allen key for leverage as well as it has arri locating pins to keep anything attached from rotating. I was actually surprised at the effort it took to remove this. If I have a use case that needed more hold I actually still use this for my safety leash mount as a back up!

Very easy to use and setup, great quality, actually sticks and has great suction on smooth surfaces. Honestly scared me trying to use it on the car lol I didn’t go to fast but it held on pretty well. Comes with pretty much everything needed to get started. Great product for the price!

I tested with camera on my car at highway speeds, did not move. I mounted on my Refrigerator and pulled my refrigerator out of its location. Very Impressed.

The magnets are strong the screw connector is standard and it does exactly what it says it does. I use it with a trail camera to keep an eye on my vehicle and it's perfect for that.

I own multiple camera cages from SmallRig. They design and make GREAT stuff, like this smart idea to combine suction-cup + STRONG magnets to secure small cameras (even if the suction isn't required, the rubber prevents marring a painted surface). Also unique is the permanently-attached small cylinder, topped with a 1/4" (20-pitch) tripod screw: the entire cylinder rotates (i.e. pans) with fairly strong detents. This is good for a small action-camera...BUT...if this is mounted to a vertical surface, a camera with any heft (or G-forces upon impact) might cause unintentional rotation (i.e. drooping).Now, sadly, I consider this version entirely unusable without adding a ballhead on top *instead of* the 1/4" threaded rotating-column. The included GoPro style mount and plastic spring-loaded phone-holder only allow adjustment in a single axis (tilt or roll). Unless you're mounting on a piece of metal that's exactly horizontal or exactly vertical, you'll have no control over horizon-roll. This base really cries out for a small ball head -- which they offer on the double-sucker base version of this, but not single-sucker?!.WHILE I'M PONTIFICATING...It would be great if the pan of the base cylinder could be locked, so when using vertically (i.e. when pan becomes tilt), the weight of your camera (or G-forces) won't make this "droop."
