One of my cats eats super fast and always barfs because of it. Such a pain! It hasn't happened since I got this dish, and it also helps to feed them a little less, three times a day instead of two, if you have a barfy cat.

I love the design of this, plus the weight - the cat can't push it around or flip it over. It also cleans up well, unlike the silicone ones, they tend to stain and food sticks to them.

Our senior cat has IBD with frequent vomiting, AND tends to scarf and barf his food. This slow feeder checked all the boxes - ceramic to prevent bacteria build up, dishwasher safe, and nice to look at. It has slowed down his eating enough that he has not gorged himself and proceeded to throw up since introducing it. It’s held up well to many runs through the dishwasher and still looks brand new.We have now purchased a second bowl for our young bengal, who just needed an extra challenge added to his meals for some mental stimulation. Watching him use it has made me appreciate the weight of the ceramic, because he does his best to try and tip it over and is unable to.

This seems like a quality ceramic dish. Unfortunately (and likely my bad for pulling the trigger w/o reading full description) it’s HUGE. Like a salad plate wide & 2-3” tall so doesn’t fit our small space without the threat of being kicked when we walk by, so we wound up returning it. Seems like a great concept & quality though!

I had almost given up on getting my cat to stop vomiting after wolfing down her dry food. I tried feeding her a tiny bit at a time, but that would only make her meow nonstop every couple of hours. Tried not feeding her dry food at all, but felt guilty about not giving her enough variety in her diet. Finally I heard about "puzzle" dishes like this one and searched Amazon. After reading the reviews I decided to give this dish a dry, and made sure to keep the packaging in case it didn't slow down kitty's eating enough. I was shocked when the dish actually worked as advertised! She hasn't vomited since I bought this dish and now she can enjoy both wet and dry food again without any adverse effects. I feel good about that as she is an indoor cat and has fewer pleasure than outdoor cats.A couple of notes:-I was pleasantly surprised by the heavy, good quality of the dish. It's easy to clean, too. Definitely seems like it's dishwasher safe but I don't mix cat dishes with human ones, so I don't know for sure.-The swimming fish are a cute touch.-The only reason this dish won't work is if you fill up the channels too high with dry food so that the cat is easily able to "skim off the top" in multiple places and eat at usual breakneck pace. Fill the channels evenly and not too packed with dry food.So glad to have found this product!

Two of our three cats do the old scarf and barf, to combat this we were pulling them away from their bowls (or vice versa) periodically while they ate and it was not fun for either party. This is a much-preferred alternative!Pros:- Keeps cats entertained- Serves its purpose of slowing down eating- Ceramic is healthier than the commonly used plastic (search feline acne)- Sturdy and smooth, packaged well to prevent breakage during shippingCons:- Heavy, could be shattered accidentally if dropped- Not the easiest to clean but not too bad- Shallow sides make it a gamble to add water to your pet's food without making a mess- I always get anxious that one of our cats will chip a tooth on this, lol
