Excellent Heatsink for slot2 (center) - installed it as a second one on my Dell XPS 9530. The original was in slot 1 - near the edge. The one I bought was the right one - it's in the center and free. Use the screw that came with it, but not from the laptop lid. I had 1Tb, and I bought another 4 tb. I still installed a new ssd instead of the old disk on the right, it seems to heat up less there and I made it the main disk. And I installed the old disk in slot2 and covered it with this heatsink. I didn't change the Raid mode in the Bios - I left it as is. If you suddenly want to change it to AHSI - then think about it, for this you will most likely need to reinstall the system (Windows) or restore the driver from Safe Mode. This issue was discussed on the Dell website, so I will not describe it here.

Works as expected, happy SSD inside of my xps 9520. Careful with the screws - the one in stock too long and will damage your motherboard.

The product was packaged nicely. It was easy to install and everything fit pretty good. No problems with it at all.

I just received my new Dell XPS 15 9520 laptop yesterday and installed a second hard drive. The hardest part of the job was getting the back of the case off with electronic wedges. The installation of the second drive itself was simple. The heatsink cover fit perfectly and along with the hard drive took seconds to install. It was well worth the investment.

This device work on my XPS 7520, but I was concern a little bit on it's connection. But I delt as long as cover was cover, I was ok. I did have the replace the error prone 990 Pro with WD.

Although it looks to be the correct heat for the number 2 SSD the end cut out does not line up the mother board plaster tab. Instead the alignment cut out rest on the H42 motherboard post, prevented the heatsink from being used. Disappointing.

Expensive for what it is. Works fine.

I have a Dell XPS 9510 and wanted to add a second SSD. The free slot on my XPS is called "SSD2" and is the one nearer the edge of the case (see the photo). After reading other reviews it seems that the heatsink I needed to buy is actually the one called "First SSD". This does fit the SSD2 slot on the XPS 9510, and helpfully comes with an M2 screw for fitting. I installed a Crucial 1TB SSD into this slot which works well.

There’s no box/foam in the package to protect the tiny piece of metal. The plastic bag is dirty as shown in picture. In fact the product looks like an old used product with a new thermal pad on it (the metal looks dull on it). The delivery was on time, however earlier shipping date would be make it better. It did not come with m2x2 screw where xps need it, instead it came with two m2x3 screws, I doubt that they just put the wrong screw in it. And the heat sink is slightly (tiny bit) longer than it supposed to be, so when it is installed, you’ll feel the heat sink bending up a bit because of the length. However, this is the only place I can find for this product, unless buying a SSD from Dell official with double the price, no choice……
