Ease of application,varnish first then use a salt shaker to apply the grit let dry then topcoat with varnish. Finish product comes out great.

This went into the paint smoothly and the added texture does it's job well. I put it on my front steps and have received several compliments as to it's meeting it's function of nonslip security.

Mixed this with a clear waterproof coat as 2nd coat for a new deck.Not visible at all once down and dried. However you can feel the product apparently doing its job!Deck not slippery when wet from rain and very hopeful! Will update once we get snow and see if its going to work for shoveling!But so far appears very hopeful!

I had a floor paint from the big box hardware store that was supposed to have some grits already in it, but that honestly was looking like regular, smooth floor paint. I mixed in this stuff after the first coat and cutting in and sort of getting between the top of slats of a ramp for looks was complete and dried. Adding this for the second coat on the very top of the shed floor and ramp project helped a ton with getting the end result of that second, top coat to have more texture and stick. It didn’t make it real rubberized or anything drastically different, just more of a textured grit to the finish (photo attached of final finish in dark blue/purple/gray).The grits are VERY fine. That means they mix in super easily with just a toss in and mix with paint stirrer or even just the plush you are using. (It’s even sort of fun). You can obviously use the whole thing in one gallon or just add as you see fit. I sort of added about 1/3 to 1/2 of the container into the bottom 1/3 of a gallon of paint and it made a nice, thickened, textured, top coat that was just enough to do my 10’ x 12’ shed and small ramp that leads up to it. I like that I saved some in it too for another project down the line, as I’m thinking it would be a good addition to brush on just the treads of my stairs to my garage. I like the idea of painting everything the way you want and then adding this in a nice thick layer on just the floor/bottom/ stair top layer for just a bit more traction where you need it.The color is just plain white to the grits/dust and once mixed in it blended totally normal. None of the grits appear white at all- they all look totally covered in paint and the end result looks the same color as the first coat I had applied without this grit, so it didn’t lighten the color or change it at all, even when dealing with a dark color.I took a photo of it outdoors and dried and tried to get close up.I like that it also made the paint a smidgen thicker to work with, so it was easy to cover all hail heads and get that top coat nice and thick and covered.I used a regular paint brush and a roller for different parts, so it’s versatile.Note though, that I also went to add some parts to the center slats and touch a few places up and the thicker paint was a pain to work with for anything detained. Do your detail work first with the thinner paint then add this for just top coat and I think it’s easier.The price is a tad pricy for what you get (small amount), but I can’t argue that it’s handy and the end result looks great.Overall I’d recommend it.
