I Have a old 1910 house All the walls are plaster with lath. I had been working on one room trying to smooth out the walls and it took forever. I figured I would try this product and I swear it’s a godsend my walls look perfect they were so horrible before I’m so glad I came across this product

I have purchased this same brand and texture level before [fine] and it generally comes much like a thick talc or flour. this time it was like small pebbles, i had to grind it into something usable. Not sure if the product changed or if this particular product was damaged in some way, the product packaging was in good shape as you can see from the image.

Added .75 of this container to .75 gallons of white paint and stirred with a paint stirrer. I used to mini microfiber roller to apply to some concrete planters after putting on base coats of sealer and normal white paint. It looks a lot like stucco with a much subtler texture. I suspect there is a way to make it less jagged with a different kind of roller but didn't have one. In my pics you can see the 70s stucco on my house next to it. I don't think I'd want this on an interior wall but it worked well for my purpose.

Looks like sand. Was okay until it dries. I would not recommend this

I've now used this with Benjamin Moore Aura and Regal Select bases at 1/2 box per gallon, and it covers repairs and the "fine" matches the texture of 100 year old plaster almost perfectly, restoring the "plaster texture" that multiple coats of paint have hidden. It takes a lot of mixing (I let Mr. DeWalt do the work with a Hyde Tools 46565 4-Inch Diameter 23-1/2-Inch Mudslinger Mixer) and pushes the limit of what you can get in a gallon can. It then rolls on with a regular 3/8 inch nap roller. You'll want an edging roller to get uniform texture right up to windows and doors. The sand texture effect is very pleasing to the eye on an already "irregular" plaster wall. You might want to do some sort of scratch coat if trying to get a "plaster look" on sheet rock, though, since that require a more irregular surface than sand texture alone can provide. But I don't believe you can do better than this stuff for the final finish . . .

My sheetrock patch and sanding skills have a lot to be desired because I have no patience. I used this and it worked out great. NOW, everywhere you patch it absorbs the paint and appears to be more textured when the paint dries. For even texture you need to mix well, I added this and took paint to back to Lowes and let them put it on the shaker, also you must prime all your patched areas which will absorb the paint and appear more textured (unless you prime).

We are in the process of remodeling our guest room into a master suite in our 85 year old house. Removal of some walls and patching of the ceiling was necessary. While our contractor did a great job, we could clearly see that the ceiling surface he created where walls used to meet the ceiling and others he repaired did not have the texture of the original due to many visible light brush strokes over the decades of the ceiling being panted with a brush by hand. We knew right away we couldn't just repaint the ceiling or you'd always see what spots were new and which were original and scrambled for a plan that would NOT give us a "popcorn ceiling" We purchased one box of this produce in the finest texture available and added HALF a box to a gallon of ceiling paint (not a full as recommended). It worked PERFECTLY and added just a very light sand finish to the entire ceiling easily blending the older and newer ceiling together. The texture is not that noticeable but now you can't see the areas that were replaced from the original either! :)
