Tiny skeleton keys
Commonly used to open small locks. These keys will work well as a jewelry box key, small chest key, or a key for other miniature locks. Typically, a replacement jewelry box key is smaller than 1-½ inches.
Small skeleton keys
Most kinds of furniture are opened with small skeleton keys. A “Small'' is a key between 1-½” and 3” long. Kitchen cabinets, curio cabinets, display cabinets such as a china cabinet, humidor cabinets and others, armoires, a secretary desk, or even a grandfather clock can be opened with small skeleton keys.
Medium skeleton keys
These keys are intended to be used with house doorknobs and other larger locks.
Large skeleton keys
The largest skeleton keys work to open very heavy locks

I bought this for a Shelbyville Desk roll top desk. The lock was marked Yale with a 2. Shaft diameter was correct, tip to tip bit length was correct. Had to reduce the thickness of the bits slightly to fit into the lock. Also had to file off the top of the bits about the thickness of the cover of the lock body.Key is solid brass not plated.

Make sure you understand this is a blank and you have to cut the key. We were able to replace the misplaced key to our roll top desk with this. It just took a bit of curing and filling.

Did not open my roll top desk lock. Will have to return and try another one from a different vendor

The 'wings' at the end of the key were a little too thick to fit in my lock, but after filing them down a bit, it worked perfectly to open the lock on my desk!

I ordered this key for my Dad that lives in Florida. He said the key was the wrong size. Unfortunately, I live in IL and it would be too confusing for him too mail the key back.
