I can't put it together as the hex nuts are missing. I had tonsue a ruler to make sure I was assembling whatever I could correctly. Instructions can be better and use visual screws and bolts.

I am good at following instructions but the hardware came jumbled in one bag and the pictures are small and useless. I haven’t even used it yet and wished there had been an alternative for my situation. I have a Roadtrek where the spare tire is on the cargo door and if I put a hitch carrier on I can’t open the back door..

So I read a lot of reviews. Saying this was a cheap pos. However after receiving this it seemed well built. I did replace all the hardware. I chose to use stainless steel. I also cut 4 1/2" off the basket side. Which allowed me to mount it snug to my spare tire. Making it extremely sturdy. I will update my review in August. As we are going on a 1800 mile road trip. Most of it backcountry roads. Stay tuned for a final review.Well after a very long road trip.I am happy ro say it held up. It would not hold up on many of these kinds of trips. Hundreds of miles of backroads. For the price however it was perfect. If you just used it on the highway. Or the occasional camping trip. I would last for years. Very happy with my purchase. We bolted the box to the rack making it more secure. Held up nice.

When I stumbled upon this it seemed like it would be the perfect solution to being able to haul more gear off my spare tire because there wasn’t room anywhere else. After receiving and putting it together, I quickly discovered there was a ton of play in the receiver and there was no way to tighten enough to take the slop out. So I purchased a receiver clamp designed to take the wobble out which seemed to work well. However, after my first trip with it, I found the biggest issue. This simply isn’t for anything more than smooth roads. With even just a little weight on the basket, every bump in the road bounces the whole setup causing the metal to warp and droop. By the end of the trip, I had 3 ratchet straps going from the basket to my roof bar just to keep it from falling off the back of my vehicle.By itself, it just doesn’t hold up without additional support to keep it from drooping. I wish I went a different route but now I’m outside the return/exchange window and so I’m stuck.

It was quite easy to install. One note is you probably don't want to put a huge amount of weight on it. But for a four-wheel drive vehicle where you plan on going on rough roads you don't want the trailer hitch style because if you have to back out of something there's a chance that that cargo carrier down low on the trailer hitch can hang up on a rock. This rack being up high avoids that problem and still gives you some extra storage space.I reduced the review because after a few trips admittedly on some pretty rough roads it broke. So all it's good to have it up high it can't take a lot of beating

Its made in USA and PARTIALLY aluminum.. The mounting of this carrier basically a receiver hitch and unfortunately there is a TON of play in it as the receiver is 1.26" and the carrier internal is 1.34" so it flops all over the place...Ships completely unassembled as a bonus.
