My husband had gotten a box of these to replace our old detectors and this order was a replacement for one of those. This one began saying smoke detector alert continuously. The company sent a new one out and we just plugged it in. So far so good. The dogs are thankful it works and we are as well. Very scary to have those things go off without reason. Thank you for sending a new one.

I like this product but wish I had sprung for an alarm that can tell the difference between a real fire and just kitchen cooking. I have had to open the windows and put a fan on the floor just to keep it from going off every time I cook something on the stove. I recently purchased a portable stove hood and as long as I turn that on, the alarm does not go off. My husband loves the sensitivity though, so that's a win.

We installed these in our brand new home. They were constantly going off. We would even put new batteries in and they would say low battery within 30 seconds. We thought we got a faulty set and ordered another set of these and they were worse all of them said low battery as soon as they were newly installed with fresh batteries. We even switched batteries brands to see if that was the problem. These are absolute junk!! Crazy expensive also for NEVER working! Couldn’t return because we ordered them and installed a few months later. Hoping to save others from the same mistake!

As a hearing aid user, I typically cannot understand the electronic voice messages issued from small electronic devices. The Siterwell smoke alarm/CO detector is an exception. The device's 'voice' instructions and messages are clear, loud and easily understandable, making it much safer and more user friendly than the typical alarm.Installation was perhaps slightly more difficult than other smoke alarms in that there is a true 'up and down' for this device. The imprint of a house on the cover means there is a defined vertical marker (the peak of the house roof) so if you are planning on re-using a hole from a previous device, chances are you won't be able to use it. Plan on drilling new holes to install this one...there's no fudge factor, it's got to be straight up and down to look right, although if you don't care about vertical symmetry, then install it whatever way fits your existing holes.

My husband connected these alarms. We live in a small home so the sound is super loud I guess it's a good thing. I love to heat up jalapeños in our Comal so it's very sensitive to the heating smokes up easily and these alarms are super sensitive. To turn it off just press the middle button with a broom

Update: The seller contacted me to resolve my issues. Their customer service was excellent. They are small but discrete and have option for adhesive or screws. I really appreciate the customer service.Buyer Beware! I purchased 6 and they are a sealed 10 year battery and one went bad in three months. There was no number to contact about this situation. They are small and compact. I hope the other 5 last. The good news it wasn’t expensive.
