Cheap, works well with the kit lens. You can fit a filter and the cap on. 5/5 as it does what it says, what more can you ask for?!

This lens hood is VERY study, well made, and is not flexible at all. It fits my Nikon Z50 perfectly and securely both for use, and reversed for storage on the lens with no problems attaching the lens cap. I will be ordering another one of these to replace a crappy flimsy one I have for a different lens!

Like some (or perhaps many) folks do from time to time, I tend to experiment using various step up rings, filters, and lens hoods to try on various lenses from different brands of cameras.I purchased two of these to use on a 37 - 46mm step up ring. The lens I was using was the Panasonic Micro Four Thirds12-32 zoom (equivalent to a 24-64mm zoom) which uses a small 37mm screw in filter ring. I wanted to attach a hood the width of the lens body - not necessarily the smallish 37MM part of the end of the lens. So I got a 37-46mm step up filter ring. I attached a 37mm filter, then a 37-46mm step-up ring, and then these Lens Hoods. Now read this so you won't be caught off guard. Trying to attach a lens cap on front of this lens hood is tricky at best - and that is because no lens hoods I had (and I have hundreds of them) would stay put. Yes, there were a few that seeming fit exactly over the lens hood, however, the edges of the hood didn't allow for the snap-on portions of the caps to engage properly. So with every try, the lens caps just would fall off and that became frustrating. In fact, I was getting ready to send these hoods back, until I found a fix - read on.The fix is that you use a 43mm lens cap, it snaps right into place on the inside of the lens hood - and it looks good and is functional, holding the cap in place. So keep that in mind. Of course, I'm referring to using these lens hoods on other lenses (not the Nikon that it was probably designed for).So yes, this particular lens hood serves the purpose quite well, looks good, but it is made out of a inexpensive-feeling plastic, so keep that in mind.

What it does: screws on to lens, lens cap fits on it, looks nice. What it doesn't do: except ANY kind of filter from the front as described in the product info. You can put the filters on the backside but that pushes the hood further from the lens causing severe vignetting in the image and makes the hood look horrible on the lens. Very cheap plastic and would absolutely shatter if you bumped it against anything.Buy this if...If you just point and shoot, use auto on your cameras, use hoods instead of filters to protect your lenses, or just want your lens to "look cooler"DO NOT BUY IF...If you use polarizing filters, diffusion filters, soft focus filters and especially neutral density filters, DO NOT BUY THIS! Especially ND filters where you need to stack multiple filters on, which will cause the hood to protrude from the lens and ruin the images.

This tiny little shade is a pretty accessory to slightly protect the lens. It is not deep enough to do much by way of glare protection, but it does complete the look of the camera. Which is awesome.
