Product came with a bad plug in emitter and when I contacted SIIG customer service they told me since I bought it from Amazon I would have to deal with Amazon, they would not help me.

This is a truly outstanding product. I have a AV receiver located in a closet and needed an IR extender to be able to adjust the volume with my cable remote. I previously had another device which worked fairly well but was a little finicky as it wasn't always very responsive. After a few years the device broke and I replaced it with the SIIG unit. Works flawlessly. Markedly more responsive and sensitive. The construction is far more pro grade as it is metal compared to the plastic one I previously had.

Units pair and all indicators indicate they are working but control of remote device is absolutely unreliable. Does not matter where the remote led is placed in relation to the device's receiver.Either the built in or extension emitter. Absolutely useless in controlling my RCA video projectors. I tried three of them with the same result, Intermittent control. More no control than success. Avoid at all cost, would rate zero stars if I could.

Remote control extender performs as expected. Transmitter is situated in separate room next to 2nd television and receiver is at decoder next to main television. (With a solid wall in between).I imported the product to South Africa to replace a broken extender because remote control extenders are no longer manufactured and sold. That is because all new decoders sold in the country now come with built-in remote control extender.I plugger both the transmitter and receiver into old USB cell phone chargers. (I selected an extender with a USB plug because mains power in South Africa is at 220V and not 110V as in USA).Both transmitter and receiver are enclosed in a strong aluminum box of good quality. The product is rugged and looks durable.Only one issue: both transmitter and receiver are small and very lite, hence I stuck them both with prestik bostik (a rubber based adhesive) to the shelve (transmitter) and desk (receiver) because if you by accident move the table or pull on the cable the transmitter/receiver is going to go flying through the air.

Got this to extend my Logitech Harmony Hub into a different room where my stereo components are located. The concept is good. Signals are being received by the SIIG extender and it was able to control my Sirius Radio, but not my NAD Amp. If I held the IR emitter 1/2" in front of the NAD IR port it would *sometimes* work. Tried to get this to work various ways, including ordering an IR cable to connect the IR-out to the NAD Amp's IR-in port, but that didn't work either. By the time I had tried all the options, the return window on Amazon had closed.

Took about 5 minutes to set up. There isn't a USB port at the utility room in the basement where the Spectrum Equipment is located, so I had to find two available 120v USB Ports. Once that was done, the rest was child's play. My living room in the Cottage is pretty large. Didn't matter. The Receiver is very sensitive. There is a bit of a delay in the System response. But the Channel changing worked flawlessly. I highly recommend.

Phenomenal. I’ve tried at least six competing versions and they all barely worked or had crappy build quality. This is well built, has a sturdy aluminum construction, and has no noticeable input lag. Pairing is stupidly simple.Three things to be aware of:1) they require a USB port or usb power adapter to work (1 for transmitter, 1 for receiver) within 16 inches of where you plan on placing the device2) there’s an annoying blue light every time a signal is received. Not docking a star for this because a small piece of electrical tape takes care of it.3) while transmission is powerful, don’t expect miracles. Crossing a lot of concrete walls isn’t going to happen for any kind of consumer wireless signal. That said, it’s actually viable to chain these devices (two sets of repeaters, connect IR out of transmitter to the second receiver’s IR sensor) if you need extreme range.
