This signal generator has a stable Oscillator, but needed a touch up on calibration. When I received it, it had a "rattle" inside the brand new instrument. I opened it and one of the ferrite slugs had backed off the tuning coil that calibrated the highest frequency. It was very easy to put this back and recalibrate it, rather than send it back.I bought this for tuning the Intermediate Frequency (IF Transformers) in my antique tube radio. It does have a modulated tone that can be mixed with the 455 KHz signal making it a very valuable tool. This feature is not found on any Signal Generator for under $250. Therefore, it's a bargain! But don't expect the dial to be very accurate. Having a digital frequency counter makes this work superbly!

Impossible to tune. Has no tuning resolution. Nothing much inside. Save your money.
