Applied patch to several areas last year, it still looks good after being in service for 1 year, so did some more work upgrading the appearance of my pool this fall. Very satisfied so far.

I mixed the product using a drill mixing attachment until I mash potato like consistency. The color matches the while pool plaster well and the material is durable. After almost two months not a single patch has failed. However, it is very difficult to get a smooth finish. The texture is gritty and unlike other plaster patch products. The other downside is that you can perform underwater patches.

I can't disagree with Scott's review more. This is a great product and id easy to mix and apply. I bought 20 lbs from Amazon and quickly found that this was entirely too little. Amazon couldn't deliver for 6 days so in desperation I called Sidet Crete directly and got connected to a most pleasant and helpful man. This was on a Friday and he agreed to custom package 25 lbs for me and ship it next day delivery. Expensive but worth it to get the product quickly. I thanked his profusely and said I would like to send a note of gratitude to the "Big Boss." He said well that's me. I'm the owner. Cool or what?

On a horizontal surface and small vertical spots this is fairly easy to work with.On larger vertical spots it's more difficult. Too dry and it won't stick, too wet and it runs down the wall. Some trial and error may be needed to find the right moisture level. If you start the mixture a little on the dryer side and add small amounts of water gradually it will be easier to find the best consistency. I started with 12 oz of water per 5 lbs of product which is on the higher side of what the instructions recommend.Scoop a moderate amount out of the bucket with your trowel and apply to the wall with an upward motion. Also be sure to keep a bottle of water or a hose nearby if it starts drying out before you're finished.Overall this is a good product that works well, however it is not magical or super easy to use the way that other reviews seem to suggest. And it didn't cover anywhere near 10 sq ft at 1/4", I got at the most 5 sq ft per 20 lb pail.Note: The 20 lb bucket comes with about 21 cups of product which makes each cup just under 1 lb, which means a slightly rounded cup should equal 1 lb.

Just follow the instructions and you will end up with an easy to apply mixture. Not sure what "SCOTT" was talking about in his one star review, but it is clear that there is no "beach sand" in the mix. It is obvious that it contains bright white marble aggregate. If you apply the product at 1/4 " minimum, per the manufacturers instructions, you will be able to patch & finish to a nice smooth surface. Don't try to to do a thin feather edge application, or you will not be able to cover the aggregate, and get a smooth finish. This has been a great product for my patching needs. It has saved me from a full replaster this season!!

We had a 30 year old pool that previous owners severely neglected. I read all the reviews and was nervous about being able to use this. I thought it mixed very easily. Mix in small batches! It only takes a small amount of water.Son in law patched and I went behind him and smoothed it out. It's extremely humid in Florida, so it took a little longer to completely dry. We put fans in the pool and it dried very well. Now we are starting to paint.

First let me say I have bought several products made by SiderCrete, and all the others were exceptional products! This one, however, not so much. I have an old pool, which needed various degrees of repair. I have a lot of experience working with everything from concrete to drywall mud to bondo to structolight, so pool plaster? How hard could it be? I did the prep work as instructed and began mixing the plaster as directed. The label says to mix this stuff with water only, until you have a mashed potato consistency. So I got as close as I could to that and began applying it to some damaged areas. Using a stainless steel trowel, I quickly and easily filled 2 large holes.,no problem. Moving on to another area, I soon found that no amount of troweling was going to smooth this out. It has the consistency of beach sand! Totally impossible to get a good, feather edge finish with this stuff! I used the product anyhow, as I had a deadline to meet. But the results were substandard, very poor indeed. It seemed to work best for filling the large holes, but you will not get a smooth finish with this stuff. I hope that at least it holds up well!I hope that the guys at SiderCrete read this, and adjust their formula, remove the beach sand aggregate and replace it with a much finer alternative . SiderCrete products are excellent, and without question I will buy more of their products in the future! Their staff is also exceptional, as I have dealt with them directly. That being said, this particular product is horrible!

I have a 1975 inground gunite Anthony pool. I had numerous spots of delaminaltion of the plaster. I used this mix to patch the plaster after chipping out and loose plaster. I am really pleased with the result. The Sider plaster really adheres well. Even in areas where I had to do repairs without chipping out much if any material, it has held on well. (Like the edges of plaster steps.) The finished surface is smooth. Although I had to use an angle grinder to smooth some of my mistakes after it dried. The color is good, a nice white. It did not match my pool but that is due to the age and staining of my existing plaster. I also would note it is a tough product to mix by hand. It seems to repel water initially. Just keep mixing it will blend.
