I use this instead of duct tape. Over time it will not break down and delaminate. Its holding power remains until you really need to remove it, and even then, it wants to remain where you put it. This is truly a "Professional" grade tape.Notes:- It tears relatively easy perpendicular to the roll if you require thinner strips, and also tears straight horizontally to the roll.

Ya this is good quality gaffer tape. Good firm structure but not too rigid and not at all flimsy. Good adhesive.

This brand is okay, but thinner than some gaffer tape I've used. It holds pretty well, but I do believe those thicker brands are stronger in holding things down. For most purposes this is just fine and easier to tear into thinner strips or tear off the roll. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Before I received this I used the adhesive dots to dampen overtones on my drumset. When I played out they were a pita due to the fact that they would stick to the cases. Over time they turned in to a gluey mess so I went back to tape.Never use duct tape for this purpose as it leaves a lot of residue. This gaffer's tape leaves none, it's easy to remove to change the dampening for different room acoustics.

As someone who uses gaffers tape extensively on the job, I can wholeheartedly recommend this tape. Hands down the best I have ever used, adheres nicely (and very strong) and releases without any residue. The width is perfect for most cabling jobs. Not wimpy.

Some tapes out there are really junky -- way too thin. Others are really strong with strong adhesive; however, sometimes you don't want almost unremovable tape. This is the stuff I have used backstage for so many years and applications. It sticks just well enough for temporary jobs, and is easily removable when time to strike the set, the electric, or load-out. Am very satisfied.

It's a $32 roll of tape! But it's way better than duct tape. I'm putting it on everything. The best use for it is to cover up brand names on electronics. I don't think my duct tape will ever see any use again.

I had used some Polyken 510 and got this in a different color to supplement it, but after using this I ordered a black roll to replace the Polyken. I was happy with the Polyken tape, but it is harder to pull from the roll and deforms more easily in the process as it has some stretch to it. Both are desirable qualities, but when a tape's tack is more powerful than its stretch you wind up with unintentionally deformed tape.This tape's tack & adhesive reminds me of 3M / Scotch "no residue" duct tape, which is smooth vinyl vs cloth backed and not as comformable as gaff tape. That tape is great for "no residue" duct tape jobs, but this tape is ideal quality gaffer tape.This is great quality gaffer tape, and a great deal when its price is in the $20s range as it is a large roll. The Polyken may also suit your needs at half the price & good quality if you don't need so much of it.
