About this item

  • Note Some devices use RF instead of IR for remote control. The Blast IR Wireless Pro only works with IR devices. Please check the signal type of your remote to ensure it is IR before ordering. .Wireless Distance: 200m (650 ft.), distance may vary due to obstacles, IR Receiver Distance: 7m (30 ft.)Incompatibility : Yamaha HTR 6140, Arris DCX 3520E-M, OSD ATM-7 Speaker Selector
  • BlastIR Pro receivers are directional and require facing the receiver towards where you will be using the remote. To improve reception and widen the angle of control, we recommend using the included IR receiver cable connected to the main receiver unit.
  • BlastIR Pro Emitters work best when placed within a few inches of the devices you want to control. For best results we recommend attaching the included optional IR emitter cables so that the emitter is directly over the IR receiver of up to two devices. These are designed to stick directly to the devices that you are trying to control rather than sitting in front of them.
  • Included USB and AC power cables, extra IR cables, mounting adhesive, and rubber feet.
  • Wireless Distance: 200m (650 ft.), distance may vary due to obstacles, IR Receiver Distance: 7m (30 ft.)
  • Incompatibility : Yamaha HTR 6140, Arris DCX 3520E-M, OSD ATM-7 Speaker Selector

Multizone: Protect from Interference Most IR extenders are programmed to pass any signal that is sent through the receiver. Sometimes this may disrupt your setup as a few devices in your closet run on a similar IR frequency and cause interference with one another. The Multizone feature protects your devices from interference from other devices. This gives you the ability to have certain devices controlled only from specific areas in your setup. This has been a requested feature from many of our customers as they have extended IR signals but unintentionally were controlling two devices located in the same space. Cable boxes have especially been a pain since multiple cable boxes are easier to have based in the same area. Now with the BlastIR Wireless Multizone you are able to ensure you will only control the box that is attached to one of your TVs and not the other. The Channel IR System The Multizone feature works on a 10-channel system, this system gives you the ability to interact with your devices without needing to worry about your Wireless Extenders interfereing with one another. The system also gives you the option of using any number of transmitters or receivers on any given channel. This gives you complete freedom of choice for where your displays and devices can be placed without having to complicate your setup. The BlastIR Wireless Multizone Receivers will only communicate with the BlastIR Wireless Multizone Emitters that are set to the same channel. If you happen to own the classic BlastIR Wireless, this product will also work with it. Channel 0 on this product will allow IR signals to be sent between the two diffferent versions.

I ordered two pairs for two different TV systems, much easier to setup and worked great compared to my previous units

Maybe it's an installation problem for others or not changing the channels it operates on if there is interference or what. In my case it was perfect. The install couldn't be easier. Pads for surface so it doesn't slip, foam dual sticky sided 3m mounting pads and magnets to attach it to metal were all included. The size of these is amazingly small. As far as spread speed etc. I have a closet about 30ft from the TV and it is immediate response. I use it with a Sofabaton because that remote doesn't have it built in its only IR is the hub which sits inside my closet.Plugged the blaster in behind my TV andounted it on the bottom lip of my LG OLED. Insanely discreet size.Overall worked out of the box as expected. With receiver and blaster IR built in you can go solo or plug in the included wired extenders on each end.Overall very well thought out product, packaging and execution. Probably a life long Sewell fan.

Purchased multiple transmitters and receivers and set them to different "channels" to control multiple devices hookedbto central distribution system from different rooms in the home. Like that the devices are small, but the fact that they're round and too light makes it difficult secure them discretely for a clean look. They work well for their intended purpose and don't appear to suffer from interference from my neighbors infrared solution like my previous solution did.

I need to convert from an old URC RF system to IR due to a failing and expensive remote. To simplify my setup I decided to convert to IR. I was originally planning to extend the IR pickup over Cat 5 until I ran across these. If they did not work I figured I would just return them; however, I had them up and functioning as advertised in less than 30 minutes. The blaster function on the receiver puck seem to work well. It would be useful if it had more than one IR emitter port. I would recommend them.

Easy setup and worked right away, but for the $62 price it shouldn't come damaged. Both of the pucks have scrape marks where all the holes in the casing are.

works perfectly. 2 minutes to install it. You have to point your remote accurately for receiver to receive the signal. hardly any lag time! U might have to hold the remote buttons just a little longer then normal. a few times the receiver "pucks" light shows that its getting a signal, but nothing happens.I ran a 50' HDMI cable to a second T.V (purchased separately) and used this IR remote repeater, to access my Bell express Vu PVR and receiver in another room.

The IR receive itself works but the IR receiver plug doesn't work. I wanted to big receiver and use the IR eyes but it didn't work. The emitter works well but. No issue there. Luckily the IR receiver box was small enough so I mount it on the bottom. No worth the hassle to return when everything else works beside the IR receiver plug. Just keep that in mind if you plan to use the small IR receiver plug then it might not work on all devices like the emitter.

After reading product reviews I decided to order the IR kit. When it arrived I followed the instructions but had trouble getting it to work. I found a useful troubleshooting video on You Tube but still no luck. I ended up working with Sewell support. I tried calling their toll free number but no one would answer. After two days I sent an email to support. Around three days later they responded. After a couple days of back and forth emails trying to troubleshoot they sent a replacement transmitter device. Once I connect the replacement device everything works as it should. My equipment is in a separate room from my screen. The projector and AVR were far apart from each other so I ended up ordering a second emitter device. So far I’m happy with the setup. Thought of giving a four star review because of the slow support response but they were knowledgeable and sent the replacement device at no cost.

For years, I had been using the NextGen IR Remote Extender to control my TV set top box in my electrical closet. And I need to control it for my two TVs. The NextGen system worked for a while...until it didn't. The reviews in recent months were right. The setup was tedious and the signal was either hit or miss; but more of misses. Then when all hopes failed I decided to give this Sewell Direct BlastIR Wireless Pro a try, by act of faith mind you. At first, I was rather skeptical and apprehensive that this would not work at all. I mean considering my so-called "traumatizing" experience with the NextGen system was not encouraging at all. Not to mention that my set top box's IR receiver is rather difficult to locate unless I use its proprietary remote. But after setting up Sewell Direct BlastIR Pro, I was (and still) blown away by how incredible this system is. Not just its setup but the signal was as good as pointing my remote directly to the receiving end of my set top box; such that there's no reception delay at all.The only caveat is that it's a bit pricier but I suppose I don't mind spending just a little bit to make this work and it did. I couldn't be more pleased with this system.

BlastIR Wireless Pro works extremely well. Response time is fantastic and it was a breeze to setup in my media cabinet.Manual is very helpful but anyone needing an IR repeater in the first place is probably savvy enough to install these with almost no help, they are dead simple. This kit also includes everything you need, I really don't think Sewell does enough justice to their product on this page.It includes:2 x USB power cables with 3.5mm (to unit) to USB (to power source), fairly long but of course, USB can be easily extended if you need. They also include two USB wall-chargers to power the devices. I love that these are separate and not attached to the cables. I have USB ports on my power strip, so I didn't need to use the chargers and fill up more outlets. The kit also includes an extension for the receiver (blue) so you could hide the receiver if the small (and non-intrusive, dim greenish-coloured) light on the receiver bothers you. You could also potentially pass the extender through small holes, around corners, or maybe through walls so you can control devices through even the most challenging of setups. There is also a long, dual-headed extender for the emitter. The cable comes with the heads together and you can peel them apart for only as much cable mess as you need. Allows for more control over more devices, but of course brings more wires to the mix. Then there are the adhesives. Reusable or permanent 3M adhesives for the units. There are two magnetic feet with a strong magnet if you need to stick to metal surfaces. The included extender cables also have adhesives on all the heads. Sewell really did include it all and I was happy I didn't have to think about how I was going to stick bits to things. An excellent product and a premium package. Sewell definitely gained a fan.

I ordered this BlastIR Wireless Pro IR Repeater from Sewell to replace a wired version of an IR repeater from another company. We have moved our TV on to a wall location and are in the process of hiding all the wiring out of sight behind walls and/or in a cabinet. We still have some wires to go, but this product has enabled us to eliminate the IR wiring all together. It's a real improvement in both looks and performance over the cheaper, wired version we originally tried. The BlasterIR's Receiver is the component that faces the room and receives the IR signal from our remote controls. It's small enough to fit in the space between our sound bar and the bottom of the TV. It's range is great for our room size (about 22' long and 18' wide) and picks up the remotes signal from a side angle that's almost parallel to the TV itself. The receiver is powered through one of the USB ports integrated into the TV (although the device itself supports either a USB or regular plug-in option). I haven't used them yet but Sewell appears to have provided a few options to help with affixing the IR devices in their final positions including some adhesive pads and a magnetic pad option as well.I'm still playing around with the permanent placement of the IR Blaster Emitter. It sits inside a closed cabinet and faces the concealed cable box receiver, router and DVR components. It retransmits the various IR signals it receives from the IR receiver by blasting that signal to anything it faces. I just placed it in the cabinet about 5" away from the devices I wanted to control, plugged it in and it worked with no other set up.So far the BlastIR is working seamlessly and with much better function response time than the cheaper IR version we'd tried at first. The lag time between when a button is pressed on the remote control and the action taking place on the device I'm communicating with is minimal. The emitter itself is plugged into an outlet on a surge protector powering the other in-cabinet devices, although it too could be powered via the provided USB connection if desired. As a note, we did experience a shipping issue during our ordering process. The order it self was processed quickly and shipped in a timely manner. However, there was an issue with our actual receipt of the product and the USPS who reported it delivered to our mailbox when in fact it had not been. Regardless, we reached out to Sewell directly and they quickly resolved the issue for us with no problems and in a timely manner. I would recommend both this IR Blaster Pro product as well as Sewell as a trusted company itself.
