UPDATED: Reach out to AV Access support & they were very responsive and addressed the matter.Worked VERY well at first, but died in less than 2 years (19 months). Would have highly recommended despite the high price, if it lasted longer. Very disappointed - could have been a 5 star item.

Exactly the product I had been seeking. Audio over HDMI with CEC capability.

Used this to send HDMI signal from DVD player to a receiver in another room over cat 5e. Plugged everything in and it worked instantly. Thank you for making a reliable product.

6/12/24AVS has reached out to me about my complaints and concerns and we have reached an amicable agreement. I believe the error on their part was an honest mistake and will not hold them responsible any longer. As I mentioned in my complete review following this message, the HDMI eArc extender boxes work great.I bought this extender set a little over 30 days ago and beyond the return period, plus I threw the original shipping stuff away as well. So when it started dropping video after a couple of weeks, I couldn't return it. I was able to clear the dropouts for increasingly shorter periods of time by removing power and restoring power.I decided to see if there was an external problem causing the dropouts, so I replaced all my HDMI cables, moved the boxes to a more stable power supply but alas it only got worse. Time to call for return/repair from the company.I called the number for tech support and actually got through quickly, The person requested the usual owner/model info and what the problem was. He then told me he would pass it to customer support. Next day I received an email from tech support (I supposed) and he told me things to change in my settings. I replied everything worked fine for a couple of weeks, my settings were just fine. I asked again for replacement. He said he would pass it to customer support. Now the end of day2. Day 3 no communication from them but I was CCed from someone within their organization asking the other folks to resolve the issue. day 4, no news, day 5, no news it is now day 6 and no news. There is actually a happy ending to this sad tale. Being forced to dig even deeper into my system due to no help from them. I discovered a bad coupler in the Cat 6 line. Took that out of the circuit and voila it now works perfectly. For me this has worked out, but you may not be so lucky if you have a problem with the extender. Think twice about the lack of support.

I have a TV setup thats in excess of 100' from the AVR unit, which is in the basement. The TV is surrounded by 4 Polk 8 speakers which produce excellent acoustics for use via the Amazon Music app. Because its just high grade copper wire, they are hard wired into the AVR unit, so there is minimal, if any loss in sound quality. The TV however is a different challenge. Because of the distance and multiple (sharp) turns involved, I initially purchased a soundbar, made by the same manufacturer as the TV, however the power unit failed. Rather than go that route again, I decided to find a method of hard wiring the TV into the AVR unit. I thought about a fibre optic cable but realised that data would be lost over such. distance. I stopped by Best Buy for advice and initially, they suggested an HDMI cable via the eARC port. After additional research, I was pointed in the direction of an eARC HDMI extender, but not this brand. Doing the due diligence however, paid further dividend as the initial brand I was close to purchasing, isn't compatible with the brand AVR receiver I have.So I looked around further and found AV Access and gave them a call. Kevin answered the phone: it was a relief to get connected to a live, clearly knowledgable, and extremely patient Tech. He understood my challenges immediately and initially pointed me in the direction of a cheaper unit. But when I explained more, he assertively singled out the AV Access eARC HDMI Extender Balun HDBaseT 3.0 4K@60Hz Over CAT6a/7 Ethernet Cable. It arrived a couple of days later and efficiently does exactly what he both explained it would do and what I needed. I called AV Access during the installation process to eliminate some (self imposed) confusion and again Kevin rectified my slight misdirection within a few minutes.Right now, the TV switches seamlessly from its own built in speakers to the surrounding speaker setup via its own remote control and plays crystal clear sounds without any delay! Problem solved. This unit is excellent and I thoroughly recommend it for its ease of use, installation, and compatability.

I have only had this installed and working for a few days but it appears to work extremely well. It did take several days, and several emails to tech support, to get it configured, but this is more due to my unique requirements and not any fault of the equipment. When it is connected in its most basic configuration, I was able to transmit video/audio over 50 feet, and several rooms away, without any trouble. It was only because of my unique home automation and AVR configuration that I need to reach out to tech support. I received a response from “Kevin” within a few hours and he continued to respond to emails until my issues were resolved. My advice is to make sure you use high speed 8K HDMI jumpers from your source to the transmitter and from the receiver to your TV and then just follow the instructions provided and you should have no issue. But if you do have trouble, my experience has been that tech support will be very knowledgeable and should respond quickly (make allowance for time zone differences).

After buying multiple HDMI balun extenders to send a eARC/ARC signal over ethernet between a LG TV and Samsung Soundbar, none of which worked, THIS product works great.Literally, plug and play! - connect it all up as instructed, power up everything and you are done.I had an issue with the transmit and receiver unit being the wrong way round, the instructions are incorrect on which unit should be connected to which piece of equipment BTW. Once I worked that out, everything works great. No more ugly HDMI cable between the TV and soundbar.
