I wasn’t sure if I could get this safe into place once it was delivered since it’s heavy. I am a 65 year old woman and thought I would need a hand truck. I didn’t want to ask anyone I know for confidentiality reasons.I heard the Amazon delivery truck and I asked the guys to just put it inside my door and they did. I certainly didn’t want it sitting outside my house because the label did say Sentry Safe.My next door neighbor had a large safe delivered and the delivery drivers unboxed the safe in the middle of the street so that everyone knew what she received. It’s not something you want advertised.I was able to slide the boxed safe to the area I wanted to store it and the set up for easy and straight forward. I love the wheels on the bottom.I did read the reviews prior to purchase and the only thing I am disappointed about is the plastic handle and locking mechanism. I would like a lock that is more heavy duty. But this one is priced fairly and I will purchase a larger one once I move.Definitely worth the piece of mind to have the Fire and Water proof storage for important documents.I’m very happy with this purchase.

This safe is just what we needed! It's strong, roomy, easy to operate and we are so glad we went with the manual dial instead of the electronic--we don't have to worry about replacing batteries or the electronics not working since....there aren't any! It's just a basic manual dial safe. It has a very solid feel and locks up tight! When turning the dial, though, you want to remember to just hold the lever up a bit and you will see how easy it turns by doing that. It's a roomy safe and has two inserts-one a tray and the other a bin, to use for keeping items separated. We like that you can easily adjust both the tray and bin to fit your needs. The combination is preset at the factory and is shown on the back cover of the manual. Make sure to make a note of it some place safe where you can easily find it. The manual also shows the serial number for you so that's good to have in case any issues come up. We drilled into, and through, the floor so did not need the concrete bolts. Actually, we used a couple of 7/16" bolts we had and also the matching nuts and cinched them up nice and snug. Make sure when you drill that you drill from the outside of the safe, not inside. The Bosch drill bits went through the metal easily. We then righted the safe and used a brush to clean out the debris. Some of the debris is sharp so watch for it. The door closes nice and snug however the drilling compromises the waterproof feature but it's well off the main floor so that was not an issue but it is something you want to keep in mind when deciding whether or not to anchor the safe.We read the directions before doing anything and they are very clear and easy to follow.All in all, a great safe and we are very happy with it!!A further note: The bottom of the same is very smooth and we were able to slide it along to it's permanent location!! (We are seniors so paid the fee to have it delivered inside our home. It weighs 125 lbs. so it was well worth it to have the delivery men bring it inside)

Delivered but after half a dozen attempts to open it, it would not open reliably and required pushing the handle, which gave a number of unpleasant sound plastic clicking noises and was extremely difficult to lock or unlock - the mechanism itself was partially jammed or wasnt aligned to the right combination.Phoned the manufacturer who instructed me to dissassemble the rear front of the safe (it was clearly a very common problem!) revealing it was indeed entirely a plastic locking assembly..!Utter unreliable piece of junk, on top of which was the apparent moisture problems(I was planning on storing my camera in there, as per their photos!)Trying to return it can be a nightmare also - as you need the original packing material, and I doubt even batman could get this safe out without ripping apart the packaging materials totally!Just Avoid!!!!

Great safe. I was confused about the key and combo lock. I thought you could use either to open the safe. Not true. The key keeps the combination from opening the safe. Like a double lock. Lots of room inside.

I actually bought this for a friend. It arrived yesterday he loves it. He is mainly using it for paperwork. There is plenty of room. He had a 12 inch lock box before that was way overloaded. This holds all he had in there and there is quite a bit extra room still. It’s very heavy. No one is going to easily walk off with it and it can be bolted to the floor. Took a few practice tries with the key to get it right(a little different than the directions). Definitely a great price especially with Amazon free shipping. I may actually pick one up for myself. Seems very sturdy and not a bad looking safe. Hopefully he never needs to worry about it being fireproof.

It's a well-made and sturdy safe. I specifically wanted a mechanical one with combination and key, rather than electronic - too many horror stories about circuits failing, external battery packs getting lost etc etc. There are a number of different models with combination and key, I wanted one with 4 bolts and this one has that. It's not light, so please make sure you have some help to get it set up - I can imagine a thief having a hard time trying to move it, even if it wasn't bolted down. Opening up takes a read of the well-written manual and a bit of practise. I mastered it in about 10 minutes. It holds a lot and has a few handy options for keys and a movable shelf (you need to swing the door wide open, so make sure you do that before placing the safe close to a wall).Note that the keys are inside the safe and you should make it a priority to get them out before trying all the options! Also remember to keep the combination safe and secure! This is a great place to start a new safety and security plan for your household

Safe is fire resistant, water resistant, and has lots of space. There is a key lock on the front which ensures that, even if you have the combination, you cannot access the safe if it is in place. A nice two stage protection. Safe is sturdy and I don't think can be defeated unless you get some industrial tools involved. The company offers online storage of combinations as well in case you are forgetful.

At this general price point, the SFW123DSB safe is a strong choice. The quality of the locking mechanism seems about average (a bit "plasticky" like many of the other brands), but the 4 large bolts that actually engage with the body of the safe seem very solid. It would be nice if the hinges were recessed and harder to get at but they do promote the hinge bar as "pry resistant."The safe is just barely wide and deep enough to store documents (in tab folders) arranged in either direction (sideways or front-to-back) which is nice. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's a good idea to toss in silica packets or canisters no matter what climate you are in if you wish to keep documents in the safe. The adjustable shelf and the door containers are great for flexibility and access to particular items.I do wish they had included a recessed loop from which to secure the safe via steel cable (not everyone can take advantage of the bolt-down system) as one more layer of theft protection.One thing to note if you are comparing safes and prices is that Sentry Safe makes a lot of variations for this safe. So when you compare, be sure to note the full model number and check the Sentry Safe web site to see what features are different. Even among the 123 models that have the dial combination mechanism (I chose dial combination so that I was never at the mercy of batteries to be able to open the safe) there are a lot variances. Some are water resistant, others aren't (look for SFW instead of SF for that feature). The differences between model numbers could be as simple as external color, but if not you may end up with less protection than you thought. This SFW123DSB on Amazon seemed among the best of the dial combination safes in this size. Plus, free shipping for a 90 lb safe is pretty impressive. I'm happy with my purchase and it arrived in good condition.
