I have used an ADDI knitting version for years. I like it, but was curious about this machine. It is definitely more finicky than the Addi. It works, but is more delicate. I found it works best with thinner yarn or even crochet thread. I removed the suction cups, as they are pretty worthless. Instead I mounted the knitting machine onto a round craft wood. I placed the machine in the center, marked the holes. Drilled in the screws and then clipped in the legs to the screws. Use caution because the legs are not that strong. It works much better stabilized on the wood. It does not move around and you can have your other hand available for necessities. I did put small silicone feet tabs. I think.larger ones would be better.

I have been interested in getting a knitting machine for a while now and heard a lot of positive things about the sentro one. Assembly was easy, getting the suction cups on at the bottom was the hardest part and I just pushed them in with my screwdriver. I watched a quick YouTube video on how to thread and start your projects and once that happened I had no issue!I’ve used it in tube mode and panel mode.Tube mode is the easiest and I recommend you just make a tube to start with spare yarn to get the hang of it. I did not use the yarn provided in the kit but I did use a thinner one than provided and it turned out great. It can get confusing if a stitch becomes dropped, mostly in panel mode. But I found if I create a ledge with tape where I want my yarn to stop, and wrap an elastic band around the peg I need to stop on, it greatly helped with accidentally missing that last row in panel mode.I used the Caron latte cakes yarn and not even a full cake created a sweater!I made a tube for the body of the sweater, two long panels individually sewn shut for the sleeves. And two thin panels to create a square neckline to connect the sleeves and body!

Great product and super easy to use, however it definitely has some downfalls.Aesthetically, it looks like a kids toy. Not really impressed with the look or feel. The machine itself isn’t very durable. The plastic wears easily and begins to drop stitches or “stick” on certain hooks. I took it apart to grease the gears and immediately noticed some build up which turned out to be worn down bits of plastic. Also this machine is very evidently meant for light usage. I made about 5 hats in a day and noticed issues almost immediately. It also started making a terrible clicking sound which I had to remedy when I took the machine apart.Overall, it does the job though and it’s a great machine for beginners. If you’re a high volume user, I’d definitely recommend investing in a higher quality machine. Once this thing breaks I won’t be purchasing another.

I will start by saying that I ordered on Jan 13 and it got to my home on Jan 26. Which is a little longer than usual for Amazon but packaging and shipping times are a little longer at this time. I bought this product knowing it was a cheaper version on the Addi knitting machine. A knock off. I had thought it was going to be a sentro or santro based off of other reviews. It is not. The brand on the side says Fygain. However I am sure it is probably the same machine and they just put on a different label. It came with 3 plastic needles of different sizes and a hook to help weave in ends. It also had 4 balls of cheap yarn in varying weights. I used this yarn to test out the machine. It works as intended. I watched a few videos on YouTube on how to get started and finished of. My advice is go slow at first till you're sure you're not dropping stitches and then you can go very fast. Slow down again when switching colours till you have a few rounds of the new colour. The row counter on mine does work. Other advice I have is make sure you have lots of yarn pulled out from the skein cause it doesn't go as smoothly if it feels this tension. And don’t let the yarn bunch up under the tension hook,it will tangle there and get you stuck. And then you will have to spin the opposite way to fix it and you will most likly drop stitched by doing that and have to start over. It only took about 15 minutes of trying it to get the hang of it. All I’ve done is used up the yarn they gave me, but so far I like it. I will try with some of my fancy yarn later. I’d say for a knock off it’s great!

The information in this listing has not been entirely accurate. Also, I noticed immediately the day following my purchase this listing disappeared from amazon. Now it's back up with a higher price. The machine I ordered was supposed to be a sentro machine with 48 pins and a row counter. Instead I received a 48 pin 'santro' machine that has what is supposed to be a row counter but does not work at all. The sentro machine is already the cheap off brand version of the addi machine, so I am very disappointed to have recieved the off brand version of the off brand version item I was attempting to purchase. But despite not receiving the correct brand, let's talk about my actual review of the machine. This knitting machine I bought as a stand in, until I can afford an addi king size knitting machine. I am experienced in working with yarn; knitting, crocheting, weaving, loom knitting, etc. I've done it all. I watched a lot of YouTube videos on the sentro before making this purchase so I knew exactly what I should expect from the machine, and despite not actually being a sentro the machine I received works almost exactly the same.Let's start with the cons:-My row counter doesnt work. At all. Extremely frustrating. I can't make things exactly uniform and instead have to measure my pieces with my tape measure, which means pieces vary by a few rows.-Turning the machine manually begins to hurt your hand after a while, but this machine is definitely not good enough to handle one of those drill attachments that will turn it for you, so you just have to deal with the hand pain or take excessive amounts of breaks. (I am 21 and I dont have arthritis, this thing is just uncomfortable.)- You have to have this secured or suction cupped onto a flat surface. It will drop stitches like crazy if it's at even a slight angle or a tiny bit wobbly.Pros:-I can actually use it to make hats relatively quickly, I've made about 10 hats and 3 scarves on itSome additional things to note:- This machine is extremely picky about the yarn it will work with. I personally have found Caron Simply Soft and Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn to work best. I am going to try Lion Brand Mandala Baby soon.- Don't buy this machine if you have no experience with yarn crafts. It will be a huge pain in the behind to figure out everything from scratch on a machine that barely works.- If you do want to buy a Sentro definitely do not buy one from this listing, because you might get a broken Santro instead.

The machine is not perfect which I was not expecting because this specific knitting machine is limited and also depends on how the user does the tension, yarn type, etc. You have to take the most of the machine. So far did not break. And I handle it very gentle to avoid to break because if the tension is abnormal and yarn ball gets tangled or stuck not releasing the yarn it will brake the needles of the machine. Always watch the yarn feeding the machine. And the machine warns you, it stops working smoothly and makes grinding noise if yarn and tension is abnormal. Always watch if the yarn is running freely. I put the yarn ball on a pasta drainer with legs on the floor and the yarn line goes up to around drawer button and meets the machine on the counter. The yarn has to be removed from the ball for some rounds with your hands to avoid compromising the tension.
