I ordered this because I like its versatility and gauge. I saw the reviews saying others had received defective looms and hoped mine would be better. It wasn't. There were parts of a dead insect inside the loom wrapping. Everywhere that drilling or routing had been done as for the bolt holes in the boards and spacers and the channels for the sliders was rough and had splinters surrounding the work. Two bolts had been inserted in the bolt holes prior to shipping but the holes were unfinished and too small so the bolts were jammed in and slightly bent. They took major effort to remove. But everything was present. I contacted the company to inform them of the issues and heard nothing back which is disappointing. Considering that others have had similar issues, I decided to keep this loom rather than return it for a replacement that was likely to have its own problems. I spent a morning sanding out all the rough spots and splinters and enlarging the bolt holes to fit properly. The loom will never be cosmetically perfect but with the work I did, it does knit nicely. However, new items should not arrive already in need of restoration.

Used this in the skinny rectangular configuration for double knitting. It’s a special edition spaced for chunky yarn and unlike the plastic looms I have used, doesn’t distort to get skinnier in the middle after repeated use.Used with a loom pen and Bernat Ombre Blanket Yarn.

Although the board loom is a great way to knit things. Using fine thread yarn is going to take a long time to knit up something.

It’s big and takes some getting used to, but I like it.

This loom is listed at a great price and shipped fast to me, the other alternative was the AKB official site, which is in USD and doesn’t ship free to Canada, but is definitely worth the money! I was thrilled to see it for sale on Amazon! This is a “limited edition” 5/8” (large gauge, space between pegs) double rake knitting loom that can be set at 1, 2 or 3 cm between the front and back row, and even comes with two 5 peg extenders that can be attached at different spots for knitting in the round or other varieties of single flat knitting. It has many uses, is adjustable and a really great loom. It’s easy to set up, adjust, and use. It’s very sturdy, easy to handle and lightweight. Perfect size and weight for any knitter, even if you have physical limitations- I have a torn rotator cuff on my dominant side and I can and do knit all day without pain. I can position it on my lap, a table, and so on.Definitely recommend this loom! I wanted to add to my large gauge loom selection as I mostly have smaller gauge looms and this is perfect.I’m new to double rake knitting and learned from “The Easier Way to Knit” book and “Purls and Other Gems” by Kera Weiserbs, both can be found on Amazon, they’re both 5 star books in digital or hard copy, worth their weight in gold!

While the pegs are 5/8" apart, the pegs aren't as large in diameter as are the 5/8" round looms, so the results will be somewhat different using the same number of pegs. However I imagine they're the same as the flexee looms.

Received knitting board. And it had broken pegs, luckily they sent 2 spare pegs. Just have to figure out how to get broken one out and replace with new peg. I like my 3/8 inch board that’s why I bought the 5/8 inch board. Wish the it had all the pegs intact.

Very happy with all my KB looms! The 5/8th gauge chunky loom is wonderful with this #5 weight yarn. The loom is well made and very stable. I bought side extensions directly from the KB website to make it bigger with more pegs. Being adjustable, it can be used in many configurations as well as for double knitting.I am very glad I bought this while it is still available.

I've bought a bunch of this brands knitting looks and never had a problem. Not sure what has changed, but I'm now on my third one from Amazon. The first one had a bolt that wouldn't work with the wing nuts supplied, and the replacement had a misshapen wooden piece. Here's hoping the third one will work.Only bought this loom because the pegs were spaced farther apart than the other adjustable looms I've gotten from this company.
