Packaging:Boxed and packaged very well. Base trays were a little tough to seperate but not to a point of being a fault.Instructions:Directions on use is simple and understandable.Build:The thickness of the componets is enough to overcome a cheap flimsy feel.The various pieces are modular and fit together well.The lid sits on base but does not provide any way to clasp the two together (See notes at end of review).Quality:Overall quality is good. Better than similar products that thin walled. These are made well enough that if cared for they should last several growing seasons.Usage/Germination:Immediately upon arrival the units were put to use. Two seed trays for tomatoes. Two seed trays for peppers, One seed tray populated with experimental plants six lattes with one variety and the other six lattes with another type.Tomatoes have germinated in 4 days.When selecting this product I may have made a mistake (See notes at end of this review).Mobility:The thickness and quality of the product is much appreciated here. The ledges of the base tray allows easy lifting and transporting without the worry of collapsing or splitting. The lids are a bit of an exception (See notes at end of review).Value:At around $4 per tray these trays exceed expectations especially when compared to some other products out there.Notes/Mistakes:Lid notes - lid is light in weight and sits on the base. It is easily knocked off or scooted off the base. There is no way provided to clasp the two componets together. This is a problem especially when moving the trays around, if you have curious pets who wonder what is inside these new things?When the lids shift they can sever/damge the young spouts/plants.I used masking tape to secure.the components together and so far that solution is working, however, still looking for a better more permanent work-around.The one feature that I overlooked when selecting this product which is the black trays. Unlike like the green trays these do nor come with grow lights. I am using natural window light to grow for now and it is working. However, it would be convienent to have the grow lights to optimize the growth process.

I have a bunch of different seeds planted to see how well this works. Planted my seeds on a Sunday by Thursday I already had sprouting. Some little house flowers, cucumbers, tomatoes, peas, even dill have all sprouted. My only problem now is I have no where to place my little plants when they out grow this since the weather outside isn't ready. My settings are set at 100%, white lights, 8hrs.

I grew many a plants in these and the containers never failed. Even when the roots of my plants grew through the bottom hole it did not cause any damage to the plant or container detangling the two.This comes with the lights and self watering system. I enjoyed this product and recommend it to my fellow gardeners.

What a disappointment. You wait 2 weeks for your seeds to emerge only for them to stretch out like crazy towards this weak light. I’m not sure how well these plants will do now. How are they going to continue to grow when they’re already so close to the light? How is this weak thin stem going to support the weight of the leaves? What a garbage product. I do not recommend. If I could do it again I would go to a reputable grow business and buy a starter kit from them.

Only one issue. One of the 6 lids was missing. Everything else was in the box. So, I have 5 functioning units and one without a lid. I would have returned everything that I received but I was in a hurry to get my seeds started. It would be a nice gesture to receive a 6th lid so that I can say that I got all that I expected.Eventhough I only have 5 complete units the design is awesome and appears well executed. Until my seeds sprout and I have a successful planting I won't know for sure how well this device works for me. But, it was easy to assemble and appears to operate properly. I recommend this item with only a slight hesitation due to the missing part.

**UPDATE TO ADD: we were sent a replacement that ended up working, so it must’ve just been the original set of lights. Grateful to the seller for quick response & replacement! ** We set up our seeds and everything was great until on day 5 when all of the grow lights stopped working completely. The only option Amazon offers is to fully return everything purchased, which isn’t possible as we have seedlings in all trays and the only defective part is the lights. So, yes it’s a great bundle for the price, however, you may want to explore other light options. Frustrated that we JUST got these and they’re already not working as they should.
