It alerts caregivers when the patient attempts to exit the bed or chair by sounding an alarm in the patient's room when pressure is removed from the sensor pad. The alarm monitor automatically resets when the patient returns to the sensor pad, or the alarm can be silenced with the tamper-resistant 3-push reset feature. The SUA-120 Alarm features two tones, a mute feature, and a volume range of 80, 90, or 120 decibels. It is tamper-resistant and made of break-resistant ABS plastic. It also has nurse call capability, in-room sound on/off, an auto-reset feature, an always-on feature, an alert light, a low battery indicator light, and a battery tester. Three AAA batteries are included, and there is an optional AC power supply with an adapter sold separately. The alarm comes with a protective holder, and it is covered by a one-year warranty. These alarms have been helpful in keeping my elderly loved one safer. However, after the first couple months, the chair alarm is no longer alarming consistently. It doesn't always alarm when he gets up and sometimes alarms after he has been out of the chair for a minute or more. It also no longer alarms when we disconnect it, which we are happy about. But if you need it to be completely reliable to alarm when someone unplugs it, that is a feature which worked only briefly on the bed and the chair alarm. Overall these alarms have been helpful for our family.

According to the product description, I should be able to hear the alarm sounding down the hallway. I cannot! Absolutely not loud enough to alert me that my ill mother got out of bed in tge middle of the night.It's very easy to use. And I appreciate that's it's tamper proof
