I purchased another RCA level control for the subwoofer in my office and it caused a terrible hum. I swapped it out with this one and it works great w/out the hum. The only negative is that as a volume knob it doesn't have a great range from 0-100, but when used mainly to remotely turn the sub up/down when others are in the room it works great.

Works perfect for me. I like having a knob instead of having to scroll thru my head unit to tweak my sub amp. No noise was introduced. and it will completely turn off your subwoofer when you're listening to talk radio. it is easy to take the case off if you want to do a custom install . here is what I did.

I used this to connect the Zone 2 function of my older Yahama RX-V1000 receiver to an Niles SI-1230 12 channel amp, since the Yamaha does not offer a built in volume control for the second zone. It works flawlessly without adding any discernible noise to the audio signal. I'm running my back yard audio using this set up and cannot be happier that I found an inexpensive solution to the volume control I was missing from Niles amp. Much better than hacking together a volume control from Radio Shack parts, or buying a high end passive volume control for a couple of hundred bucks!

I have no complaints with this level control. I installed it inline between my Nautic marine amplifier and my iPod. I have no head unit in this boat and this controls the iPod volume flawlessly!I am using an RCA to 30 pin iPod cable which disables the iPod volume control, setting it to to 100%. This level control works exactly as advertised and allows me to fully control the volume!Pros: Low Price, easy install, works flawlessly!Cons: None yet

I needed a remote amplifier level control for a non-automotive project. I am working on an interactive experience with lights and sound. The original installer put the audio player, a Mackie mixer, and a power amp in a secured area that is constantly locked and requires a security escort for access. This was not convenient for the customer, who desired to change the volume of the interactive experience's audio throughout the day. Since I could not access the mixer to adjust the volume, I purchased this remote volume control to put inline between the audio source and the mixer. I set the maximum desired volume on the mixer, and then used the remote control to adjust the volume down as needed. I used two 50 foot stereo RCA cables to snake the remote out of the secured area to another room that is accessible.The remote works well. The knob and pot feel sturdy. The enclosure is small and easy to look at, unlike some of the other units. However, the taper of the volume adjustment is not very smooth. The first half of the rotation has a relatively small effect on the volume compared to the last half. They could have used a different type of potentiometer to accomplish a smoother, more consistent audio adjustment.My biggest complaint is that the labels that indicated which wires were the inputs and outputs, and which were left and right, were just lying in the package, not attached to the wires. So I have no idea which are the inputs and which are the outputs. I tried it both ways, and one seems to have a better control over the volume than the other, but that might just be in my head. I picked the Scosche brand product because of the well known brand name. I've used their stuff for audio installations before. I would have expected it to be a little better than the no-name models on Amazon. We will see how it holds up going forward. Overall I am satisfied with the unit.

I purchased this to adjust the volume coming from a STB and feeding my Miccus Home RTX: Long Range, Bluetooth Music Transmitter, sending to my LG Electronics HBS-730 Tone+ Stereo Bluetooth Headset. It was exactly what I wanted and worked perfectly. This is a great solution for the hearing impaired as well as keeping the room volume down that might disturb others. It also enabled the headset, which I purchased for use with my smart phone, to have a second use.
