After being pulled over for using my phone (to change the song on the radio, not calling or texting) in my 20 year old vehicle, i went on the hunt for something to use for buttons like modern vehicles have built into the steering wheel. This was my solution and it works great. Charge lasts a long time, it automatically connects when i turn it on and controls my music without having to touch my phone at all.

The remote is functional and stays automatically reconnects after you e left it behind and return. It goes into sleep after about a minute and wake it you just click any button and then the function you want next. It is responsive with little delay. I have it on a steering wheel and have found it to be bulky and a bit annoying to drive with. I wanted it in the inside of the wheel and the forward and back buttons were reversed. I unscrewed the top and then oriented it how I wanted and just pressed it straight back in. So that worked for me. I think this is a better than nothing solution, but there are other options on the market slimmer than this. It does not control the volume in my car as it is paired to my phone. You may be able to connect it to your BT stereo and have it control both sound and skip.

This is a well-made, well-designed remote controller.I was able to mount it on the steering wheel of my 2003 Honda CRV, and pair it with my iPhone 12 and my car's in-dash Android 12 tablet. It was able to control each of those devices separately. The wheel-mounted volume control was quite convenient.If you're using either an Android device or an iPhone, this remote is a nice upgrade.However, it did not work when using Apple CarPlay. If the remote is paired with the tablet, CarPlay causes the remote to disconnect from the tablet. If the remote is paired with the phone, the remote has no effect on the phone or the tablet. Because I mostly use CarPlay, this remote was not a good fit for me.Also, the instructions are printed in microscopic type which requires photographing them and zooming in to read them. That is unnecessarily inconvenient.
