This thing works wonderfully well, installation is straightforward, you do have to access the radio wiring so if you already have it installed you gotta pull it out again. Wish they had've told me that! Three wires, set up the key logging and boom! Now, for what they didn't do right. There is no instruction on how to change the battery in the control. They did send a spare battery which is great. By the way the face SLIDES off the back plate, it does NOT pry off. I see from the reviews that some folks have broke the plastic prongs off and I suspect the reason is they pried the back off instead of sliding it off. Wake up ATOTO! Next gripe is the print on the instructions is TOO SMALL to read. Yeah, I'm old but my eyes are pretty good, but not good enough.

Firstly, I've seen this item posted with images that lead you to believe that it is plug and play, and it is not. There is no dedicated plug on Atoto HU's for this device. Further, instructions tell you to wire the remote receiver to the accessory wire. This wire is not intended to PROVIDE power, yet it's clearly trying to draw power from it. This results in your head unit no longer turning on when the car is set to the accessory position. If it does happen to turn on in accessory mode, the HU goes black and reboots every time you use the remote puck.The solution to this is to either wire the puck receiver to constant power, which would provide enough power to run, but would also slowly drain your battery. Or get a power relay switch and wire it to provide power from the constant power line when the accessory line sends a signal. Either way, this design betrays how little Atoto knows about car audio. Look to a different brand.

This is a must have remote if you don't have buttons on your steering wheel! Fairly easy to install during the installation of your ATOTO headunit. Just make sure that the receiver (black box) is closer to the remote for better signal transmission. I used those "heatgun soldering connectors" when installing the receiver and it works amazingly well. Been at least 1.5 years since I got this and haven't had to change the battery yet. Overall, it has 5 buttons and a scroll wheel. I use scroll wheel for my volume and the buttons as displayed.Button function registration is super easy. Just go to your ATOTO headunit settings, find the "Steering Wheel Keys" function and then just Press the button on the remote, then on headunit click the function you want that button to perform and then let go of the button. You're done! The function is registered to that button. Then repeat for the remaining buttons.For Volume it's a bit trickier since you got to continuously rotating the wheel while registering the function but still easy with the steps I've listed above.The remote is magnetic so you can flip it however you want or just take it with you out of the car (if you're at a beach or something and just control the music with the remote. The belt it comes with is silicone with a bunch of cutouts so you can secure it quite well to pretty much any size steering wheel.

This is the second Atoto remote control that I have purchased for my Atoto S8. I have been trying to get one that the microphone button function works on. Neither has worked and to add insult to injury, this AC-44F8 transceiver module has no connector plug on it! Just three wires hanging out the back. My S8G2B74PM has a mini-style jack on the back for a transceiver module. What a joke! Wasted time and money again! Returning this immediately. Buyer beware!

Added this to my A6PF purchase and it works perfectly. you can make the buttons just about do any function on the radio. Granted the little icons on the buttons are pretty specific as to what they default should be but you can make them do anything you want. It is a fantastic add on

I bought this at the same time I bought a ATOTO F7G2A7WE-S01 stereo unit. My 2013 Ford Transit Connect did not have steering wheel audio controls. This remote was easy to program and worked first time. It can mount to the steering wheel with an included "watchband" or to the center of the wheel with the included double face tape. I opted for the tape and placed it on the left center of the steering wheel, similar to where the factor audio steering wheel controls are on my Prius.It does require a receiver unit to be plugged into the back of the ATOTO stereo unit, so its best to buy the remote when you buy the stereo so you don't have to remove the stereo to install the remote.I like the wheel to adjust the volume - very handy.
