Product Description

  • This wireless car steering wheel remote control is specially designed for Android car stereos, so your car stereo needs to be Android and also needs to support the steering wheel learning function.

  • For installation as well as tutorials, please check out the video on our product page, and if you still have questions, you can ask us through Amazon.

  • The remote control will light up red when it starts charging and usually charges for about 1 hour.

  • We recommend that you charge the product as soon as you receive it, or after a period of use when you find that the buttons are not very sensitive.

  • On the one hand, your car stereo has installed a “canbus” which causes the learning function to be closed; on the other hand, some Android car stereos need to adjust the “learning interval” to the minimum in the settings.

  • First of all, the remote control may not have enough power, which can be solved by charging it; another possibility is the problem of vehicle signal interference, which can be solved by moving the receiver closer to the end of the remote control.

  • This steering wheel remote control connects the dedicated receiver to the mains power supply of your Android car stereo (not via Bluetooth) so that it doesn't take away from your car stereo's Bluetooth connection.

Just what I needed to complete my android tablet stereo install. The adapter fit right into the power port on the tablet (see below for the connections) and the remote took a little bit to get onto my steering wheel but once it's on it's solidly on. There's a little lag (maybe a quarter second) for the buttons to register on the system but they are all fully programmable in my stereo and easily changable.

With this item, I thought I was getting a wireless Bluetooth based controller like the description states. The box does not say Bluetooth at all and the unit comes with wiring harnesses! Ugh! I was so looking forward to having this instead of the 'brody knob' style Bluetooth controller I currently have on my steering wheel. The price of 50 USD seems very high to me and I would not order this again.

This Y-METDRIVING Wireless Steering Wheel Remote Control works very well with the Android stereos that are common these days. It comes with a two ended connector to put in between the power connector and all the auto wiring. That connects the SWC receiver so it is just plug and play. The learning function worked just as it should. The buttons have a good feel and there is room beside them to put your own labels. They can be assigned to anything you want.It would be nicer to have more than 5 buttons, and the mount snaps on to a very limited sized steering wheel. In my case I have to add some rubber gasket material to hold it on better or it is very loose.

While it didn't work with my in dash Android Auto it did with a friend's. His is an in dash double DIN so getting it out was easy. Within 30 minutes we had it all setup. The Android Auto radios can be taught to use the steering wheel button but it's hard to do. You have to find the wires and sometimes they go the the amp and arent anywhere near the radio. This remote is easier if the plug fits your radio. Just plug the receiver into the back of the radio, slip th charged sender onto your wheel and you are done. En you don't have to fish around for the right nutt9n or screen location to control volume and media control. It's easier and safer.

If you're like me, and the many others, who retrofitted their slightly older car with an Android or Carplay navigation and stereo system, you're now spoiled and want that extra cool feature your brand new car brethren have - the steering wheel audio controls. Well, this is it: Plug and play - well sort of - depends on your Car Stereo device (mine took a while to get the "learning" right but this was not the fault of this remote control device). Then Snap on and it works. Remove it a couple of times a year to USB recharge and snap back on (or like me, I just run a usb cable from the lighter every so often). Now you don't have to strain yourself and move your hand 9 inches to the right in order to adjust the volume or change the music track. Seriously this is so darn convenient. 5+ stars.

Wireless Steering Wheel Remote Control is a perfect upgrade to my 08 Silverado. My truck didn't come with any steering wheel controls and I was always wanting it. This controller allows you to add it to your generic Android stereo with ease. One end plugs into your power cord harness and the other end plugs into your stereo. All that is left to do is to learn the keys in settings and your good to go.

I got this product for free, the following is my honest and unbiased review. In the past few months I have reviewed almost a dozen aftermarket Android-based car stereos and have installed 5-6 of them. Many of these units employ a 16-pin socket that combines power, ground, speaker signals, backup camera signal, power amp/antenna, and Steering Wheel Controls (SWC) that interface to the OEM SWC buttons on your car. But: what if your car does not have SWC buttons? Will you always be forced to reach for your new aftermarket stereo to interact with the (sometimes knob-less and button-less) touch screen? Well, fear not, this product (and others like it) allow you to add your own SWCs to your car's steering wheel, for a cost that is less than trying to add-on OEM parts. This kit from Y-Metdriving comes with a rechargeable 5-button SWC button module, a control module wired to a pass-thru harness, a pry bar, and a roll of electrical tape. (I'm not sure why they include the tape, unless it's to increase the diameter of your skinny steering wheel under the module clamp area). If you have an aftermarket stereo with a compatible 16-pin power interface, then it's very easy to install this product. But even if you don't, as long as your aftermarket stereo has TWO (not just one) SWC wires, you can also use this product (with a bit of wire splicing). With an aftermarket stereo that has a compatible 16-pin power interface, you simply plug the control module between your stereo and your car using the included pass-thru wiring harness. Power, ground, SWC1, and SWC2 wires to the control module are all taken care of. If your stereo does not have a 16-pin power interface, but does have SWC1 and SWC2 wires, simply connect the control module's Black wire to ground, Red wire to Acc power, one brown wire to SWC1, and the other brown wire to SWC2.The SWC button module has 5 buttons and a USB-C power port for recharging. (A USB-C power cord is not included.) The button module clamps onto the rim of your car steering wheel, however the flexible clamps are non-adjustable. If the rim of your steering wheel is too skinny, you'll have to locally thicken it; if it's too thick, then this SWC button module might not be mountable. Also, if you have a lace-on steering wheel cover, there are no holes in the SWC button module to pass lacing thru (you may have to create your own). All of the buttons have a symbol printed next to them, but the buttons can be assigned to any function that your stereo supports. This SWC control module also works with Long and Short command presses as defined and supported by your stereo.I bench-tested this product with a Double DIN 7" Android 12 stereo, and the SWC functions worked great! This product is easy to program, and has instant control response without lag. An LED light on the button module flashes when a control button is pushed. If you want/need to add SWC buttons to your car's steering wheel, then you should consider this product. It's easy to install, program, and use, and it's rechargeable. However since the wheel rim clamps are not adjustable, it won't work well with lace-on steering wheel covers, the footprint of the button module is considerable, and it's a bit pricey compared to other similar products.

I tried connecting it to my android auto screen I got from amazon a while back. The connector did not fit the harness in any spot, whether factory or the 2-connector version that goes into the android auto.I then tried the obvious - red to acc, black to ground, and brown to the key/swc brown on my android auto. Nothing. It may be designed for a different signal format or actually require 2 key/swc cables? The steering wheel buttons feel super weird and cheap/plasticy.
