Works great on 2nd gen dodges. Don’t understand the need for the stud. Did not come with a nut for it either

The old one was rotted and crusty, and I never had a spare. I wanted to set it up nice so I ordered a new one and I ended up finding a jack kit on an online junkyard and together I’m all set up nicely part fit, perfectly exactly like the stock junkie one that came out.

I should have replaced the spare tire hoist on my F-150 years ago. I got underneath and cut down the seized up old one. Once the tire was down and out of the way I had this one installed in about 3 minutes and hoisted the spare back up where it belongs. It's nice to get what you pay for and I highly recommend anyone with a truck to check their spare tire hoist because they seize up and you will be SOL

fast shipping. I did not need to modify the hook/anchore that holds the spare tire/fyi. Thanks!

Isn’t strong enough to raise the tire on its own. I had to get under the spare tire and bench press it up while my friend cranked it, then use a jack to compress the spring to get it tight up against the undercarriage. Cheap POS.

Easy and fast DIY replacement. If you haven't changed yours yet it's probably seized – you should confirm to avoid being stranded because you can't access your spare. Part seems well made and functions as it should. It looks slightly different than the OEM part but installs perfectly. Doesn't come with 2 mounting bolts but you can simply reuse the factory ones. Last thing is it's easier than you might think working under your truck – there's lots of room because you're working behind the axle and the spare is removed so it's cavernous. If I could do it, you can too!

Only downside is the “nut” socket, of how you let the tire down is deep in the hole. And the measurement of is too. Between a 13mm-14mm.
