Returned a crappy one I bought on amazon for the same price, I would have lost my spare going down the road if I used it.Bought this one and am extremely happy. heavy duty, great welds, no chips in powder coat, heavy duty hardware, and three bolt mount. This thing is a tank. Highly recommend.

This is certainly the most sturdy spare tire mount you can find and way better than just about anything else available. However, according to the pictures and description this mount is double reinforced with one triangular brace near the wheel plate and another near the lower plate on the trailer arm. On the product I received the lower brace is absent, which is the highest stress point. I'm worried this is a product defect and I removed the carrier from my trailer concerned that the arm could tear and break off from the lower mounting plate. I emailed the seller about this issue 4 days ago, but haven't received any response.Update 1: The seller contacted me on 12/30, since I originally contacted the seller on Christmas day, the response time was actually pretty good. They apologized and offered a full refund. However, since I still need to mount my spare tire and this is still the best mount available, I asked if they had the proper mount with the double brace and could sent that instead. That same evening they confirmed they would sent me a replacement mount ASAP. I received the mount the next day (new years eve!) and it had the double brace. Today (new years day), I installed it and mounted my spare tire. The service from the seller was excellent and this is the very best mount available, so I'm updating my rating to 5 stars. In the attached photos you can see the double brace and note the thickness of the steel plates as well.

This thing has three points of contact because of three lug nuts mounting. And it’s a nice low profile and it bolts on the top bar, but also catches the upright and makes it more sturdy.

Ok, so I am a welder and fabricator and I have a CNC plasma table. I could build this, but for the time I'm saving by not building it, it becomes a good value. If I built it, there wouldn't be as much adjustability as I'd likely build it for a single wheel lug pattern. The base plates are around 8 gauge steel and the tire mounting plate is around 6 gauge steel. The gussets are 8 gauge. The gray hammered paint is nice. I'm going to be a little critical here, but the welds aren't the best. Will they hold up? Absolutely. Can they use some improvement? Also absolutely. It's nothing major but there are a few spots that have little gaps and where I live by the beach it will be the first spots to begin rusting with all of the salt air. You can probably put a little touch up paint into those areas and be on your way. Still a lot less work than building one myself. Hardware all looks good. I may or may not replace it with stainless hardware since this is going on a trailer I am building for the beach.

I bought this with not the greatest of explanations, but found a very solid piece of hardware that was much more solid then I expected. I'm sure the bolt will probably rust like some of the reviews say, but this should hold up longer then I will probably have this trailer. Brackets are easily mounted. Hardware was stronger then expected according to the reviews. I would no doubt buy this spare tire mount again, but I won't need to because it is that good.
