My daughter needed a scientific calculator for one of her college classes and didn't want to spend the money on a new "name brand" calculator. I came across this one on Amazon and to be honest, I was a little worried it wasn't going to preform as well as the name brand does. This calculator actually surprised me on how easy it is to use and get the formulas typed in for the math problems. It is slightly different from the name brand scientific calculators but her math professor has not had a problem with her using it in class. I don't know if this calculator would be allow for a highly monitored test, so I would caution the buyer to be aware before purchasing. Other than that, for everyday student use, this calculator has worked flawlessly and earned my trust as a useful tool.

I wasn't allowed to use a calculator for any reason when I was in K-12. This makes no sense because more important than being able to do math in your head (which some people can't) is knowing how to get the answer and getting the correct one (with or without a calculator). As an adult, I pursued my Bachelor's degree and it required I complete a math course that would take me through Geometry. The scientific calculator I used during that class did not have a graph feature, so I learned to make my own graphs in the traditional paper and pencil manner. Having this calculator able to show the graph is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. And it's so important. While it's imperative to be able to find the answer without a calculator (if you want) it is also important to know how to check your work with a calculator. I use geometry and physics for ordinary purposes- remodeling a room, installing landscaping, and all of the planning involved. This calculator makes that more accessible, easier and faster to calculate, and fun (because it's pink). This calculator is a must have for students, DIYers, and anyone who crafts. Highly recommended.

This graphing calculator is ok, it does work, but it's a little clumsy to navigate. The initial screen has selections, you can press the number that corresponds to the thing you are trying to do, or you can move around with the arrows... but to make the selection you need to hit = which is a bit counter intuitive. Similar controls with arrows like that make the selection by a button in the center of the arrows, or at least a button right next to them, but = is just so far away. When entering functions to graph, you use the = sign to move to the next field, which is ok I guess, I wish there was an enter key though, because = should be when you are done. those are just some minor nitpicks though, and the more I play around with it the more I understand what keys I should be navigating with... it does make some sense. It does annoy me that if I go back to edit a formula and hit = to move to the next formula, it erases the one I am on... but if you use arrows, it leaves it and goes to the next line... it's just a matter of training myself to know when to hit the down arrow and when to hit =It's nice that it comes with batteries to get you started, and it does auto shut off, but when you turn it back on you are still where you were, so that's really nice. It comes with a nice hard cover so you can put it in your pocket and they keys won't accidentally get pressed.overall, it's a pretty nice graphing calculator, but I really wish it had an enter button up near the arrows, it would make navigating so much easier.

Now, I'll be the first to admit that I don't get excited about school supplies. But my 12-year-old daughter? She's in advanced placement math classes, and she was practically giddy when she needed a new calculator. Who knew those things could generate such enthusiasm? Anyway, she picked out this IPEROT scientific calculator, and the first thing that struck me was the color: bright pink. Not exactly what I'd expect for a serious math tool, but hey, whatever floats her boat.Turns out, this thing is more than just a pretty face. It's got a ton of functions, graphs, modes... I don't even know what half of them do. But my daughter, she navigates it like a pro. She says it's a huge help in her classes, especially with all the advanced stuff they're doing. Apparently, it makes solving equations and plotting graphs a breeze.I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical at first. I mean, I used a clunky old calculator back in my day, and it got the job done. But this one, it's like a mini-computer. It's got a big, clear display, the buttons are easy to use, and it seems pretty darn durable. Knowing my daughter, it's bound to get tossed in her backpack and dropped a few times, so that's a plus. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the price. It's a bit more expensive than some of the other calculators out there. But my wife reminded me that it's an investment in her education, and considering how much she loves it, I guess it's worth it.Overall, I'm impressed with this IPEROT calculator. It's not just a tool; it's a confidence booster for my daughter. And seeing her excited about math? Well, that's something I can definitely get behind. Plus, it's pink, which makes it easy to spot in her messy backpack. That's a win for this dad!
