Except Casio saying made in Thailand and Mr. Pen saying made in China the calculators are the same. If you want an instruction booklet you can read or print out. If you are an educator and buying for studentsthe savings are significant.I suspect very little "made in Thailand" was done on the Casio.

There are quite a few other scientific calculators currently on the market that are based on the same generic model but sold under different brand names. As one would have expected given the cheap price tag, its build quality is average. The shell and the cover case is made of the kind of plastic that does not seem to be able to withstand too much of an impact but I suppose one benefit of that would be the fact that the entire calculator is extremely lightweight. The LCD display is clear with a good contrast ratio and is easy to read, even when powered only by the solar cells as shown in one of the photos. Buttons are made of hard plastic, i.e. not the soft rubber type that you may have seen from other brands, and the buttons in the lower section, i.e. those that are in grey color, are relatively tall, meaning your fingers will need to push down with enough force and movement in order to register the input. If you press or type too fast, chances are you will be skipping an input once in a while. So, as with all input devices, this will take some time to get used to at the beginning. On the back of the calculator there are 6 tiny screws that you will have to remove before you can change the battery (LR44). It comes with a folded instruction sheet (front & back).

Despite not being branded, these perform as well as my Casio FX-300 calculator, which is good enough for someone to go through their entire high school studies with. For the price of $27 (at the time of this review) for 2 calculators, this is honestly one of the better values I've seen. Normally, these calculators would cost about $20 each, and having this value makes it great for teachers who may want to get a few for their classroom.Overall, I can easily recommend these scientific calculators for those who would like a great calculator for any of their math classes and studies.

For the price, I think these are a great value. They would be perfect for students, they have all of the common math functions you'd need for high school maths.I actually got them for my workshop for handy calculations where it would be awkward sometimes to pull out my phone and use an app and I won't be as upset if I scratch this or get some sort of wood finishing product on it.I really appreciate the "replay" button for editing a calculation - it's always annoying if you hit the wrong number in the middle of a formula and have to start over so this is a blessing.

Glad I purchased multiple items. These provide all the basic functions my science students need at a very reasonable cost.
