Item is as described. I ride a Marin Wildcat 3 that is a 27.5 frame. It was tough looking for a simple rack that would fit such a short frame. I had to adjust a few times until I was happy with the fit and clearance from my rear wheel, but it was pretty easy. The hardware that came with it looked very sturdy and long enough to adjust as needed. Now I can add extra hydration or small bag in the rear. Can't wait to get out on the trail.

Quality of this bike rear rack is great. Comes with parts for several different installation options, which I like because my bike is old. Only took about ten minutes to install once I decided on the specific installation method that would work with my bike. Nice rack and sturdy.

I like this it is aluminum and you can see the welds look good. What I don't like is the pieces are extremely tightly tightened to connect to the bike, when you loosen those screws you'll have scratches when you readjust it. This is a Schwinn quality problem they should not tighten that down that much, I recommend Schwinn not overtighten those cuz customers going to have to adjust them, don't install it if you have scratches. Is this returned and repackaged or counterfeit? It's either that or a fundamental quality problem at Schwinn. This Schwinn rear bike rack has two cosmetic scratches everybody is going to get unless I was sent a repackaged used product. I already installed it so I probably am not going to return it it's not a safety issue unlike their helmet which is.Schwinn has quality problems. The Schwinn helmet I purchased then returned has teeny little Velcro pieces holding the inner ring it is not stable and kept detaching exposing us bike riders to a false sense their helmet is safe it isn't For me it popped out right away so there's no false sense no it's not safe so I returned it.The bike rack is light and made of aluminum so except for the scratches looks to be a quality purchase.

Material quality is good, better option if your not sure if other product will fit to your bike frame, this one as long as you have a saddle bar you can have a rear rack. Useful in carrying objects up to 9kg.

Whoever came up with this idea was CLEVER, it’s light (680 grams), strong, doubles as an OK fender, quick and easy 5 minute install, I believe the design and one piece construction will eliminate annoying rattles if you install it well or tighten as needed, bungee is a nice perk also.Another reviewer mentioned that the hollow tube can be used as extra storage a hidden compartment for an inner tube and bike tools, cash etc.My only complaint was it does not come with the 6 mm Allen key required or even mention that it is the only tool required . Apartment dwellers don't tend to have a lot of tools ;).That however is an easy fix just if I knew in advance (I could have ordered a set of Allen keys along with it, if you need one Amazon has quite a few for 5-7 bucks as add-on items.Haven't used it yet but I am quite confident that it will work for what I want, light groceries etc. I will report back if it does not, cheers!

I've only had this rack a week, but it has already far exceeded expectations. For the price, this unit cannot be beaten. At first, I just carried a hard-sided lunch pale on it. Then, I decided to try and go fishing with it, since I figured using the rack would be a bit easier on my back than carrying a backpack with tackle and poles sticking out of it.After I got the backpack bungee'd to the rack, I decided there was still plenty of room, and I wouldn't mind being a bit more comfortable at the lake. I removed the backpack, slid a fold-up lawn/camping chair (typical cheap model, about 3 foot long by 3 inches tall when folded), and bungee'd that to the rack first, then bungee'd the backpack on top of that. I used homemade bungee straps made from bungee material, zip ties, and cheap carabiners. This worked well, I even did some offroading getting onto the bike trail and everything stayed pretty securely. After I made it back home (no issues), I decided I wanted to look into some different strap types - Both to help secure everything better, and to make setup/teardown a little easier and faster. I looked into several different ratchet straps, bungee cords, backpack-clip webbing, and others. I finally stumbled upon 'Lashing Straps' at Walmart. They were by Ozark trail, and came in a package of 2 12 foot webbing straps each with their own buckle. These have made this rack a complete dream. These straps are identical to the straps on my Saris Bones bike rack - They adjust very quickly, store easily, and hold very securely. They double as a crate holder for storage on the back of my kayak. These straps can be used everywhere, and they're a perfect companion for this rack if you decide to haul something bulky.I successfully carried about 30 lbs of weight, and I have reason to believe it could hold more, depending on your seat post - mine is pretty standard sized aluminum on a Cannondale road bike. To help keep the rack the most secure vertically, make sure to rest it on the bottom most of your seat post, where the seat post meets the down tube heading. This will keep it from being able to slide down. Also, use the biggest shim possible, and if you're still having issues with it swinging to the sides, line the inside with black electrical tape (both the inside of the shim and the seat post if possible). This may make it hard to put on/take off, but will make it much more secure. I haven't had any issues with mine moving even under load and with lots of bumps. Make sure to get those hex nuts in tight.Overall, this is probably the best 10$ I've spent on cycling.

I was shopping for a rear cargo rack for my Trek Cruiser Classic. I wanted something simple and clean looking, functional and well made. I found this Schwinn Folding Rear Rack on Amazon and it looked like the perfect rack for me. Looking at the photo, it looked like a very straight forward design that would fit my bike and would be a simple install. I read the reviews and found it interesting that several people commented on the lack of adequate installation instructions and difficulty installing the rack. I ordered the rack knowing Amazon has a quick and painless return policy if for any reason I was unhappy with my purchase. The rack arrived promptly and I was immediately impressed by the fit and finish, quality and look of the rack. I am not a bike mechanic, but I have been riding bikes for over 50 years and have basic bike repair skills. I read the instructions and would have to agree they offer minimal information that is vague at best. Looking at the rack, I found the design was quite simple and intuitive. The two sliding rails at the front of the rack attach to the seat post quick release skewer. In my case, my frame had two accessory braze-ons on the frame below the seat to mount the rails using the supplied bolts and washers. I then bolted the two rear upright supports to the rear dropout in the frame using the supplied bolts and washers. The upright supports are adjustable so you can get the required clearance above your tire. You simply remove the adjustment bolt and slide the chrome support arm down to the length you need and then align the two holes and replace the bolt. You then check to make sure the rack is level and centered, and then you tigthen all the bolts. The install took about 20 minutes to complete. I realize not all bike frames are the same and the install may vary to accommodate a specific bike. I highly recommend this product and I don't think you will find a better rack at this price point.
