I like quality tools. I bought it because it was made in Japan. Based on my experience, most Japanese made products I purchase are well made.!!

The steel on this blade is the sharpest I have ever worked with. I am cutting relatively easily [10 min a branch?] through 5" oak branches on ancient 200+ year old Live Oak species trees--branches being 20 feet in the air from a ladder with an 18 foot fiberglass pole. It takes patience and you have to anticipate the landing zone & think "easy does it"; and do not stand under the branch you are cutting please. The branches hang over my roof. I am not concerned that the branches will fall on my house in a storm. The real problem is the trees deposit pulp and powdered bark, permanently staining the roof. The Japanese might make the sharpest steel blades out there. It really works.

It's a well made blade, but despite the ad, it's not universal. The hole pattern did not fit my Fiskars pole saw, so I returned it without trying to install it.
