Tips

  • To ensure the sanding effect and efficiency, we recommend that the size and weight of the wood should not be too large. Otherwise, the sanding belt may stop rotating at a low speed.
  • To ensure that the sanding table can achieve a full 45° tilt, we recommend that the machine be placed as perpendicular to the edge of the table as possible, leaving the sanding table suspended as much as possible.

Could be better balanced but I like everything about it

Very good unit for the price and features. The 3x36 belt is easy to find. The adjustments are quick, easy and intuitive. The variable speeds and its footprint means it can fit on almost any work bench. It works without odd sound or smells so functional seems to support good build quality. Highly recommended.

Works very well for multiple projects. I have sharpened lawn mower blades, machetes and axes perfectly

Does exactly what I was hoping it would do. Powerful and heavy.

For what you pay it was going to be a toss up. Either good or horrible. This model is very similar to the other one I have with the exception of the casing. This one has plastic pieces which I was concerned about for durability and quality while my other one is all metal. The shocker was how heavy this one was when I got it. Assembly/set up was simple and straightforward but once I set it on the workbench I was surprised with how sturdy and stable it felt. Operation of the disc and belt both worked good, again very similar to my other model. Overall, I’m happy with how it turned out. For the hobbyist or home DIYer it’s a solid machine to have if you don’t already have one. I have two now since my son and I now share similar woodworking interests as a hobby.

This tool combo is clearly designed for hobbyists rather than serious DIY projects. It works okay for light-duty tasks like sanding plastic and some wood, but it's a bit loud and feels lightweight with lots of plastic and thin metal parts. The assembly instructions are minimal—"IKEA-style" with unclear images that don’t show the placement of washers well. There’s also a lack of detailed operational guidance, making it hard to distinguish between setup and maintenance instructions. While it gets the job done for small tasks, if you plan to use a sander more frequently or for heavier work, you'll probably want to invest in a more durable model. It meets my needs for now, but it's not likely to hold up to heavy or frequent use.

We moved into a house with a large garage/shop, so I have been working on bringing together some benchtop tools and when I saw this one, I wanted to give it a try. I am 54 years old and have been working with tools since I was young so I do have a good working knowledge of tools, and I will use that to offer my thoughts on this sander. There are lots of good reviews on here already that can give details and specs so I will simply focus on my thoughts on using it. However, let me start by saying that assembly isn't too bad however the instructions aren't the best and should be redesigned. Once assembled you will see that it's made within acceptable levels however it does look and feel a bit cheap with a lot of plastic parts. Once you start using it you will see that it does the job and will get your job done as long as you don't expect it to do heavy weight projects. I have found that if you apply to much pressure, you can bring the sander to a stop but once you figure out where that point is it's easy to not have that happen. I like the disk sander for fine tuning work and the fact that you can angle it makes it much more versatile; it has been getting more time than the belt sander so far. Even though I don't switch it up to often I do like the variable speed option and its nice have there on those occasions when I am working with finer objects. Another feature I haven't used to much so far is the adjustable belt sander. Because most of my projects have required the belt to remain flat, I don't use the vertical option but again, I like that they have included it and I'm sure the time will come when it gets used. So overall I like this sander, and I think it definitely has a place in the shop, and I think that you will like it as well as long as you use it within its limits. If something comes up or if it fails, I will be sure to come back and update my review so if I haven't done so you can rest assured that it's still working for me.

I'll admit that I was a bit skeptical at the time I decided to order this Belt & Disc Sander. I feared that all of the exposed surfaces of the machine - given their bright color scheme - was going to end up as cheap plastic hoods over a skimpy thin metal frame. But I should have noticed its weight listed at nearly 35 pounds ... and that really struck home when I first tried to lift the box off my driveway where the delivery service had placed it at my back door! Many of the parts that I mistakenly assumed would be flimsy plastic are actually rugged metal components. This is a heavy - sturdily built - piece of woodworking machinery!Altogether it took me about 30 minutes to unbox and assemble the outboard accessory parts of this machine. The assembly instructions weren't the best: just a few rather small, thin lined diagrams in the manual showing where things went. An allen wrench was included that fit the 2 bolts that hold the work support above the main sanding belt. But you need your own socket wrench for the 3 bolts on the bottom of the sanding table alongside the disc sander. I guess I spent as much time getting this rather heavy machine out of its dual shipping boxes with good quality custom molded thick cardboard protective cushioning as I actually did putting everything else in running condition.Operation is very straight forward - just press the green start button, adjust the speed control dial with digital readout as desired, adjust any angles needed on the disc sander section ... and get to work. Then press the raised, easy to find and push, red button to turn it off. I found this machine to be slightly under-powered when I first pressed a 2x2x12 board that had a rough cut face down onto the main sanding belt, but when I reduced my downward pressure it performed well enough to get the job done in a short amount of time. This main sanding belt can be locked in place either horizontally or vertically for use. Adjustments of the belt for sideways drift is easily correctable - although it run true without adjustment when I first turned it on. Plus there is a convenient, easy to operate lever along the front to enable quick replacements of the belt whenever needed. And the sanding disc quickly rounded off one of the corners with very little effort. Plus the disc sanding table can easily and quickly be adjust to various angles. I didn't try using the dust collection feature (since I didn't have a suitably sized adapter to fit my shop vac readily available for my test), but all the dust generated seemed to gather in locations that the vacuum would be clearing if it had been connected. All in all I would say this is going to be an important piece of my woodworking workshop equipment that I have long needed. And it will certainly do its job better than my old hand-held belt sander clamped upside-down on the edge of my workbench!
