When I turned it on for the first time it made a buzzing and crackling sound. I didn't leave it on long enough for it to catch fire but I imagine that's the direction it was going in. I purchased this one a few years ago and just unboxed it last week. I thought I was going to have the space for it when I bought it but it took a while to get there.

I had the grizzly version of this grinder until I broke it (my fault). This one work just as well and is good for the money. It will never be a 2x72 grinder if that’s what you are looking for but it good for what it is. I use it for steel and grizzly has a good selection of belts on their website for it. The only thing I’d like to see different would be the power switch. It’s a bit small and cumbersome to turn on and off

I should have spent more money and got a higher quality tool. It is difficult to change belts, difficult to adjust tracking, the 2" belt sits at a 45 degree angle and does adjust to 90 degrees. My mistake on this one I erroneously expected it to be adjustable. Using the 2" belt it is anything but smooth, it chatters making it difficult to hold the workpiece steady. When setting the disk table to 90 degrees with a square, tightening the set screws causes the table to move so its a pain getting the disk square.. I can use the 2 inch belt to set and angle for sharpening knives using a 1000 grit belt but I still have to deal with the chatter. I should have returned it. I might give it away and buy a higher quality tool.

So far seems to function OK. Very noisy. Sounds like it is hitting metal on metal. It didn't start one time, turned disk and it seemed to work right again.

It’s a nice little machine but it only comes with one disk and one belt.

For my purpose light to medium work the tool works fine , if you want to do heavy sanding this is not the tool for you . Works fine as intended.

Kinda crappy. Takes 5 minutes to warm up when it is cold. Have to wait for it to get up to speed when it is cold.
