I park my RV in the shade for personal comfort. Use this cable to quickly connect my remote solar panels, which are place in full sun, to my RV. Have added no new holes to the roof of my RV by doing this and can place my solar panels wherever I want to keep batteries charged. As the sun moves during the day, solar panels can be quickly/easily moved to maintain peak charging efficiency. Also by using this quick connect remote system, my solar panes are able to be stored safely inside my RV while traveling and during bad weather. I am so pleased with how this has been working for me that I bought a second 20 ft cable. Just in case the first one ever gets damaged, so I can quickly get my system up and running again.

So I should have read the reviews. As others have stated this cable is a mess. It is two separate strands of wire. And on min the connections are on backwards so I blew a fuse. Exposed connector is supposed to be black minus. This appears to be a reversing cable wiring so you can use it without the reverse adapter. But if connecting to other standard sae 12 volt cables this will be reversed polarity. I could have lived with the reverse wiring. But the separate strands? And made of wire with an insulator that is not really that flexible and will not coil at all. Would be a mess all the time. Sending it back. Bad design. And two long to be made of separate strands. Some other user posted a picture that covers it. It’s tangled rats nest of wire. Not at all like pictured in the picture. There are other options on Amazon that are wor s correctly and don’t have this problem.

It is a good thing that this cable comes with the polarity reversing adapter, You will need it. The cable itself does reverse the polarity and when I plugged it into my truck and the charger nothing happened. I had to use the adapter in order to correct the polarity so the charger would charge. None of the other SAE cables I have ever used did this. It is a good quality cable BUT check polarity before using.

So, technically this is only a extension cable WITH the adapter that comes with it. The cable by itself REVERSES +/-. You must utilize the adapter. Luckily my Solar Controller has reverse polarity protection, or I would of been spending another $150usd on a new controller. Be warned!!! Seems to be well built. Wish wires were bonding together. A bit of split loom to solve this. I'd buy again.

I purchased this to be used with a solar panel battery charger. I needed roughly 8 more feet of extension to be able and hook up everything proper. This 10 foot extension cable did the trick. It has worked flawlessly in the cold and the rain. If you are in need of an item like this, you can't go wrong with this purchase. I'm glad that an item like this was available to make my solar panel battery charger get the extra extension it needed to be able to work.

wanted 12G for a longer run, and these are very robust. The +/- cables are separate but i just added some tape every 8-10" to keep them together. i'm using this to keep a towed car battery charged to run a braking unit. Will also charge auto batteries when an AC outlet is not close enough.
