I had an older version and could not access a HDD from an older desktop. Bought this one and it did fine. I am recovering my old files and transferring to a portable SSD.

I never thought it would be so easy to add a storage drive USING AN OLD C: Drive from a retired computer. It was incredibly easy to set up using the instructions provided. My old disc popped right in and I connected it to a high-speed USB port. Formatting the disc was far too easy - I had to double check that I did it right (trying to format the old disc before I removed it from a PC was complicated). Let the back-ups begin. Great for storing family pictures and docs I want to keep. While there is no place like "the cloud," this is a great 'terrestrial' addition for me.

Ended up retiring an HP from the late oughts because its hard drive apparently had gone. Took the machine apart and wondered about that drive... Bought this external drive and, since I also had an SSD to incorporate into something, I tested both in the Sabrent. (Generally, I like Sabrent a lot and tend to buy their products, with the exception of USB3.0 adapters, but there is very likely a new model or two by now.)The SSD was fine and I use it with a Dell Vostro.AMAZINGLY, the HP's drive also showed no errors whatsoever during extensive testing in the Sabrent, but of course I didn't have the courage to put it back into production. While I can't be sure the Sabrent had anything to do with this, it might have been. (Or a problem cable from the HP or the controller or ???)So I bought a couple of these and have had no problems at all. The one time the Vostro's went off-line, power cycling it brought it back immediately, and that was surely a USB cable which got nudged.Extremely happy, and of course, as always, check the prices and seller ratings...

Works well and as intended, it's so convenient when I have some bare drives to look through. Be sure to keep the plastic cover as a dust cover.

This is a very nice and simple plug-and-play docking port for your hard drives or SSD's. I recently upgraded and instead of carrying over my old HDD's from my old machine I replaced them with large capacity NVME drives. Rather than setup drives in the machine that I didn't intend to keep I purchased this to transfer files from the old drives. It worked very well and there's really next to no setup. You plug the dock in to the power outlet and the USB in to a USB 3.0 port and then just drop the drive in to the dock and you're ready to go. The key thing to keep in mind here is that this will not be as fast as if the drive were actually installed in the machine. It's great for storage or file transfers but don't expect to be able to plug a drive in to it and to use it for anything that might get bottlenecked by the speed, such as gaming, rendering or video editing. If you're just looking to access files or do anything with the drive that doesn't require high speed then this works just fine.

Seems solid enough, the speed is good, drive connections could be a little more solid, but overall I am happy with this product. Easy to setup with Windows 11 on a Dell desktop, no drivers required. Worked right out of the box. Good product for the price.

Personnellement pour récupérer des données d’anciens disques durs de mes vieux pc. Très facile à utiliser , s’utilise alors comme un disque de stockage externe

I got this SABRENT USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drive Docking Station for 2.5" or 3.5"' HDD, SSD [Support UASP] (EC-UBLB), for my computer. I really like this device, I needed something to transfer a very large music library, from my old hard drives to my new PC (something iTunes cannot do, on music not purchased from them). I found the instructions easy enough to understand (I am 71 years old) and the setup was very simple. I aligned up the hard drives Sata plugs (the short and long tips) with the slots inside the device and seated them. I also note that, on the USB cord supplied, for the transfer, the plug end designed to be inserted into the device, does not insert fulling into the slot. There is a small gap that is exposed when inserted, so do not try to push it into the slot so that no metal is exposed. I liked the transfer speed and was able to quickly recover and transfer over my 33gb music library to my new PC, along with documents I had store on my older pc hard drives. I have found this to be a very valuable tool in my computer accessories, a truly 5-star item, well worth the cost.
