I bought this because I like camping and there are black bears where I like to camp. I like that this product comes with a carrying case with a loop to be able to attach it to my backpack or belt loop. The carrying case is snug, so it definitely won't fall out, but I would practice with a few times so you know how to get it out in an emergency. The can is also small enough to fit into the side pocket of an 18L day backpack, which is convenient. I also really appreciate that it has a reusable plastic lock on the top that you just flick off with your thumb to use, and then you rinse off the bottle and put the plastic back on (you know, if you still have it after spraying at a bear and leaving the area). It's priced competitively compared to big outdoor stores, but I do wish the price was lower in general, hence the 4 stars. I hope I never have to use this, but it's a nice contingency to have.

I think this bear spray is a must-have for anyone spending time in bear or mountain lion territory. Although I haven't had to use it, having this canister with me while hiking and camping has provided significant peace of mind. The maximum strength formula and a 30 ft. range makes me feel comfortable for any unexpected wildlife encounters. One of the features is the quick draw holster, which makes the spray easily accessible in a moment's notice. Whether attached to my belt or backpack, it's simple to carry and quick to retrieve, which is important to me.While I hope never to have to spray it, knowing I have a reliable deterrent at hand makes outdoor adventures more enjoyable without the worry. Overall, the spray is a highly recommended addition to any outdoor gear kit for anyone venturing into wildlife areas.

Works great! A stray dog attacked my dog and I was able to get him off my dog and get him out the way by using the mace. A+++

I use this on my walks with all the scary things and people that can hurt me out there. It is large enough to spray multiple people or large aggressive animals. I keep it by my bedside at night and feel more comfortable with this than a weapon.

I have had not to use this yet which is a good thing right? However, I cannot tell you how many times I had to put my hand on it and have the confidence knowing I was going to blast some smart-ass into a world of pain twice with dogs. Once with a crazy coyote and another time with some creature, I have no idea what it was. Eventually I'm going to shoot it off just to say how it performs yet I'm fully confident it can do its job. I keep one in the truck and one by my front door.MarkMannM2

My husband bought this for his seasonal camping trip in upper Michigan. He was in bear country during a time of year that they are active. Luckily he did not need to use it. It has a good case and is a good size. He kept it in his tent. Easy to travel with.

I have a lot of irresponsible dog owners in my neighborhood, Most dogs here are tied to a tree or are behind a fence never to see any training in their short lives. Some dogs are not even leashed and allowed to run free. I decided it would be a good idea to buy a can of bear repellent or pepper spray. While taking my foster for a walk we where approached by an unleashed huge German Shepard followed by its owner trying to control her. The first approach from the German Shepard she barked a lot but seemed to be friendly. She walked about 5 feet back to her owner then approached us again but this time she was more aggressive and showing more of her teeth. This is when I decided to arm myself with a freshly purchased can of pepper spray. On her third approach towards us she got even closer and showed more aggression and more teeth this is when I decided this the situation is going to get ugly fast. One short burst of the pepper spray towards the dog stopped it in her tracks and she turned around back to her owner. The aggressive dog was not sprayed in the face. one smell of this stuff is enough to stop any aggressive dog. Later I went to the dog owners house to make sure his dog was ok. the dog is fine. I wish it was easier to arm this device with one hand or easier to remove the safety clip. I also think it would be a good idea to have the safety clip attached to the sprayer with a cable so it is not stepped on.
