You will NOT be disappointed with this purchase. From the delievery (via Federal express that arrived EARLY) to the packaging (a locked/sealed hard plastic bucket/container, with each tablet individually wrapped in a thick plastic, but easy to tear open each individual tablet when needed) and NOT one tablet was cracked or broken (this is very rare). We've purchased these from big box stores to our local pool supplier. Not anymore. Hands down, you cannot beat this product from the PRICE, delivery, packaging and quality of the tablets. These tablets (3 inch) do an excellent job in our inground pool. We place them directly into our skimmer basket (usually 2) and also into our floating chlorinator (usually 3). Needless to say, a very pleased customer that will also be a very happy repeat customer going forward! Thanks again!!

I was using some of the more expensive brands and my pool continued to need to be balanced one way or another. I tried this because I figured if I had to still pay to get it balanced I might as well pay less for the tabs. Pleasantly surprised by how this worked out. Not only does it keep my pool balanced it keeps money in my pocket. My pool stays sparkling blue year round. And they are individually wrapped so nothing is wasted at the bottom of the canister. Best thing I found in a long time. This is way better and I don’t like leaving reviews but how can I not when it took me this long to find.

I have a pool that sits in the sun 12 hours a day and these tablets cost less than anything. I could buy at a pool store and do a really good job. Thank you, Amazon. Anytime we can save money is a good time.

Broken tabs are THE issue when dealing with 3" tabs. They are easy to break both at the factory and (mostly) during shipping. It does not seem to matter if the tub is small or a massive 50 pound tub...it is pretty common to find broken tabs in both. It also does not matter if you buy them online or in a store. Its so common that the manufactures have gone to putting little notes in the buckets stating that its ok if tabs are broken...they are still good to use. I disagree. There are issues that come with broken tabs. The more broken they are they quicker they dissolve in the water. You want uniform delivery of the chlorine, otherwise you would just use powder. Sometimes the tabs are so broken that you basically just have powder. Another issue is the broken and/or powdered tabs are messy and more difficult to use. So YES, it does make a difference if the tabs are broken or not. In this case my 50 pound bucket was completely intact. This was my first time to use this brand so I don't know if this is common or uncommon. I have seen posted pics of broken tabs here in the reviews, so I know it happens. The question is are those the exceptions or the rule. In any case, my bucket arrived in great condition and because of this I will buy them again!UPDATE: July 2023 ****** So I did buy them again this season. This time the tub did contain some broken tabs, but was mostly intact. I noticed they are no longer putting the "broken tabs are fine" card in the bucket anymore...probably because they are NOT fine. The thing is, the cause of the broken tabs is almost always a handling issue. This could be, but probably not, an issue at the factory. Its more likely that the broken tabs are a result of rough handling during shipping and delivery, and these are mostly out of the hands of the factory.

I still consider myself a fairly new pool owner even though I am in my third summer season. I have slowly weaned myself away from the pool company and now take care of pretty much everything myself. The last step was to move away from the expensive chemicals they sold me, including getting those same name brand chemicals cheaper on Amazon. After reading the reviews, I decided to give these pucks a try.I was previously using the Bioguard Smart Sticks. I liked that they dissolved slowly and not much at all unless water was flowing over them in my skimmer basket. I was concerned that these pucks would dissolve even when water was not flowing over them thereby creating a high concentration of chlorine in my skimmer basket when the pump was off. I am pleased to say that they dissolve very slowly and also seem to require running water to dissolve very quickly at all. I initially put a couple in my skimmer basket and then a couple in a floater I have. The ones in the floater hadn't dissolved hardly at all after a week. The ones in the basket were nearly gone after a week. That was exactly the result I was hoping for. Most of the pucks arrived in one piece although a few were broken. I know the broken pucks work the same, but the surface area is different which means they dissolve at a different rate. I prefer to know the rate of chlorine going into the pool (after tracking chlorine levels and number of pucks used). I tend to be very precise in my maintenance (and in life). Overall, I think the packaging is sufficient and it is expecting too much for every puck to arrive intact. The vast majority were and that is good enough for me.Lastly, this is true for any pucks of stabilized chlorine, but you really need to monitor the stabilizer if you use these. Chlorine gets used up constantly but the stabilizer doesn't. It is possible to end up with too much stabilizer in the pool and that can reduce the effectiveness of your chlorine requiring you to use more chlorine. The more pucks you put in, the more stabilizer gets added thus creating a vicious cycle. My plan is to use these in the beginning of the season when my stabilizer is low after lowering the water level during winter. Once the stabilizer level gets to the high side of normal, I will switch to liquid chlorine. Liquid chlorine is more of a pain, but it allows me to better control my chemistry. My last observation about these pucks is that their pH is pretty low at 2.7. I like this about them. When I use liquid chlorine, my pH tends to slowly rise over time. When I started using these pucks, my pH would go down over time. Why do I like this? I like it because I can raise pH without the use of chemicals. I cannot lower pH without using chemicals. I have a submersible pump to throw water into the air which raises pH when needed. I have also been able to adjust the return nozzles to break the surface of the water to counteract the slow pH descent creating a balance so I don't have to use the submersible pump. The bottom line is that it gives me more control and the ability to create a balance. If you are not familiar with aerating your water to raise pH, I highly recommend you read up on it.Overall, these pucks are an excellent buy with great value and I couldn't recommend them more.
