Cheated on the 'sand before Bondo' step by applying this primer to the existing 14 year old clear coat. Bondo stuck to primer as good as bare metal. Re-primed the applied/sanded Bondo and spot painted. No problems after a couple of weeks of weather (car sits in driveway)..Can't tell any different between this product and the Automotive primer product.

I would have given this five stars but one can received will not spray. Other than that, a great product. I used on my Lloyd Flanders chairs when I wanted to change the color. It dries quickly and the next coat of color is holding on these outdoor chairs.

I Build Model Rockets, and it's incredibly hard to get a nice finish on them, mostly due to the building materials primarily used for construction... This primer is far superior to anything else I've used... Once you spray your first coat you'll know exactly what I mean... It costs more, but worth every damn penny... I use this primer on every rocket project I do...

It was good as I covered over the rust on the well pump.

This is by far the best spray paint white primer. It is VERY EASY to apply and dries quickly. You can recoat ANYTIME without having to follow strict rules. It is the only primer that creates such a fantastic bond between the surface and top coat. It even works great on fiberglass. I build hobbiest model flying rockets. The fiberglass tubes take a licking without damage because of this primer.

This is by far the best Rustoleum product I've ever used. It sticks to everything I've tried -- bare metal, painted metal, wood, particle board, melamine, plastic -- you name it. It levels well, it covers well, and it works well as a primer (preparing a surface for paint). It dries to the touch in an hour and the best part is (unlike all the other Rustoleum paints and primers I've used) you can TOPCOAT ANYTIME. (Other products require you to topcoat within an hour or wait 24 (and even 48) hours before top-coating -- woe to any painter who tries to recoat within the prohibited window. Having to wait that long before top-coating means that even small paint projects can drag out into days and even weeks.)The only downsides to this primer are:* It's more expensive than similar products* A can doesn't go far (Rustoleum says it will cover 10 sq. ft. but that's not much and I'm sure they mean a flat continuous surface, not a 3D one)* It's hard to find. Stores don't stock it because there's not much demand for it. There's not much demand for it because people don't know about it.* It's extremely smelly and should be used outdoors or in a very well-ventilated space. Be sure to use a mask. I used it in my basement with the door closed. and afterward I could smell it on both the first and second floor.Rustoleum intended this primer for difficult-to-paint surfaces, but I now use it for other projects (when I can get it) because of the fast recoat time.Note: You can also get this in a 1-quart (32 oz.) can, which may be more economical because spraying can waste a lot of paint. Both the spray and the brushable versions come in white and gray.
