ROVE Ultimate 3-lead Hardwire Kit - USB Type-C is a power management device that provides power to your R2-4K(with USB-C Port Only), R2-4K PRO, R2-4K DUAL & R3 dash cam models, and most other dash cams with a USB Type-C connector from your car's battery via fuse box to keep your device continuously running even after your car's engine is turned OFF to utilize the 24-HR Parking Monitor feature.

Decide A Perfect Place To Mount Your ROVE Dash Cam
The best place to put the dash cam is where you can easily use it. That means the camera view is unobstructed, you can easily remove it when needed, and it is discreetly placed. The key to mounting a dash cam is placing it where the ROVE R2-4K / R2-4K PRO / R2-4K DUAL / or R3 have a clear view and it doesn’t block your view.
Locate The Fleet’s Fuse Box
Locate your vehicle's fuse box using your Fuse Box Diagram. This information can usually be found in your vehicle’s Owner’s User Manual or from your manufacturer’s website. You can access the fuse box simply by lifting a tab or pulling a panel with your fingers, Or some may require the included trim tool.
Determine The Correct Fuse Slot For Installation
You will need to find two fuse slots to be used in this step.
- A fuse Slot that provides constant power (RED wire will go here)
- A fuse Slot that only provides power when you turn your key to ACC position (YELLOW wire will go here)
Install An Add-A-Fuse Tap
1. If you are using the previously identified
fuse slot that has an existing fuse in it, then
insert that existing fuse into the lower empty
slot of the Add-A-Fuse with correct orientation.
(See BLUE Arrow in the above image)
2. However, if your previously identified slot is empty and there is no existing fuse in it, then
you can just install the Add-A-Fuse directly
without needing to install 2nd fuse into the
empty slot of an Add-A-Fuse tap.
Fit The RED & YELLOW Fuse Taps To The Respective Slots
YELLOW: Now turn your car keys to ACC position. Now touch the voltmeter to the aluminium end of the YELLOW Add-A-Fuse to check the voltage. Your voltmeter should read the incoming voltage. It is getting power through the ACC fuse slot.
RED: Turn OFF the car. Now touch the voltmeter to end of RED Add-A-Fuse. Your voltmeter should read the incoming voltage. If YES, then great job. It is getting power through the always hot fuse slot.
Locating A GOOD Ground Point
Connect the BLACK Wire to the Grounding Screw or Bolt. We recommend that you choose the metal Chassis Grounding Screw, or it may cause your dash cam to not function properly and restart/reboot when power does not flow properly.

LOW VOLTAGE PROTECTION - OVER CURRENT/SURGE PROTECTION
LOW VOLTAGE PROTECTION
The ROVE Ultimate 3-Lead Hard Wire Kit - USB Type-C will monitor your voltage status and cut off the power to the dashcam if the voltage drops below the configured value. This minimum voltage cut-off is 11.8VDC for a 12VDC battery and 23.6VDC for a 24VDC battery. This protects the vehicle’s battery. And reserves enough power so you can start your car for the next time. You have four different configuration choices that you can select when you want the power to be disconnected to the dash cam when the battery’s voltage reaches a certain level.
OVER CURRENT/SURGE PROTECTION
The ROVE Ultimate 3-Lead Hard Wire Kit - USB Type-C can detect abnormal over-voltage status and cut off power to prevent any damage to your dashcam. Additionally, the ROVE Hardwire Kit has a built-in extra fuse box (2A) to have extra protection.

Great product to hard wire your Rove dash camera system. Good price for the kit. Easy installation. They send you the tools needed to help with the installation.One recommendation to the buyer. If you have a newer vehicle check to make sure you do not have any micro3 fuses. The fuse taps sent in this kit are only the standard 2 blade. You can buy a micro3 fuse taps on Amazon but since I didn’t check before I purchased I had to wait a few more days to install. Otherwise great product.

I purchased 2 of these kits for the 3x (Rove R2-4K) cameras I purchased for my family's vehicles. The install was extremely simple. Great instructions. Great YouTube videos for additional trouble shooting. I highly, highly recommend this product.*best feature*This product has a small voltage meter that allows the camera to operate as a "sentry" video guarding your vehicle, however, if your vehicle's battery drops below a certain voltage, the camera will turn off, preventing the batter from going below the voltage necessary to start the vehicle. This is a fantastic safety feature, and really thoughtful.I have tested this and it works extremely well.*Distance and location*This product extends the distance you can connect your camera from the battery by ~9 feet. Meaning even in the German automobiles who has the battery and fuse box in the rear of the vehicle you will have plenty of "give" to mount on the windshield.

Installation was pretty straightforward, and they give you everything you need in the kit. The hardest part of the installation for me was identifying a fuse to use for the ACC connection. I was doing this by myself and the fuse box on my RAM 2500 truck is in the engine compartment next to the battery, so I kept having to walk back to the drivers seat to turn the truck on and off to test the fuses. Would have been much quicker and easier with a 2nd person sitting in the truck. Because my truck's fuse box is in the engine compartment, I had to route the wires through the firewall but luckily there was a hole with a plastic blank bolted over it I used so I didn't have to cut through the rubber boot around the steering column or worse, drill a new hole in the firewall. The wires in the hardwire kit were just long enough to reach from the fuse box, through the firewall, and up to the location I placed the camera. Overall I'm very pleased with the product and how well it works. An added bonus is not having USB cords hanging down to plug into the USB ports on my dashboard.

You need this if your cigarette lighter power socket is always hot. The kit comes with literally everything you need: wire harness, fuse taps, zip ties, and even a simple volt meter. The instructions are very clear and easy to read.

Comes with four different kinds of add-a-circuit fuse taps and should work with most modern vehicles (mine is a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 and it came with a mini fuse one that worked great). It has plenty, and I do mean plenty -- like 15 feet -- of cable to reach from your fuse box to your dash cam, and the included voltage probe made finding an always-on circuit very easy. This kit is well worth the extra money to permanently wire your dash cam and go for that clean look.

This is a great product. It is a very well written manual. I highly suggest you read the manual and follow the directions perfectly and you will be successful. Two tips: take a photo of your fuse box before you start and print it out on your printer so you can make notes. Start the wiring from your fuse box and run up the door pillar and under the airbags. Leave excess wire by the installation site in case you want move the camera later.

This is the most complete car camera hardwired kit I have experienced. The included fuse taps with easy to connect crimp joints, the volt meter and the quality of the overall product is outstanding! They truly thought of everything and as a result it made for an easy install and zero trips to Autozone or similar for needed pieces/fuses. Bravo Rove. I am a fan already!

This was super easy to install to include hiding the wires.The three leads are very easy to distinguish, and it came with a bunch of end-options to ensure you can match your exact vehicle fuse type.hen installed, the camera automatically turns on and off with your car. It will manually turn back in if you want to use it in "parking lot" mode. I tested it several times and it turned itself off when the car battery started to get low which ensured I could still start my car.Only negative (but not enough to drop my overall rating) is that it does not come with a 90° connector for the camara; that would make it look cleaner when installed. But it works and I am happy and considering buying another set to replace the one in my other car.
